OF KINGS AND KINGSHIP Americans have an uncomfortable relationship with kings. The American Revolution was fought for independence from King George, after all. Nonetheless, today every Catholic church around the world celebrates the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Today’s feast invites us to look beyond our national loyalties and rejoice in our primary identity. We are children of God in Jesus, Christ the King. Our readings help us consider what it’s like to belong to God’s kingdom. The book of Samuel captures the deep longing of the Israelites for a king to shepherd them. Saint Paul reminds the Colossians that we belong to the kingdom of Christ, whose power he praises in a beautiful hymn. Finally, Luke’s Gospel calls to mind the kind of king Jesus chooses to be—a suffering servant, a man for others. By sacrificing his life for us, Jesus throws open the gates of Paradise.

Greetings as we celebrate Christ the King feast! We hear of our Lord's love for us on the cross, which is his throne of mercy and with the 'good' thief in today's Gospel we trust in abandoning ourselves to his words of life, "Be saved and welcomed to my knigdom". Thank you for your generous response to the second collection today dedicated to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the many outreaches to the church's presence throughout our cities and centers in America. On behalf of Fr. Nicolas, Deacon Enrique, Deacon Noe, our parish secretaries, staff and myself we wish all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving this week with family and loved ones. Our Parish is having a bus trip to the March for Life in Washington D.C. Friday, January 24, 2020 The bus will be leaving from Holy Trinity Church, parking lot 315 Lawrie Street, at 6am and will be returning by 8:30pm.

In the United States, tragically 1.21 million Americans are aborted annually whereas only 20,000 infants are adopted

The cost is $ 25 for adults and $ 15 for children under 12 years. With stop available to eat.

For every 1 infant that is adopted into a loving family in the U.S., another 61 babies are not given the chance for life.
