ReceiveAfter [the Magi] had left, an angel of the Lord

appeared in adream to Joseph and said, “Herod will be looking for

the childin order to kill him. So get up, take the child and his

motherand escape to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you to

leave.” Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and left

duringthe night for Egypt, where he stayed until Herod died.

Thiswas done to make what the Lord had said through the

prophetcome true, “I called my Son out of Egypt.”

RespondLord Jesus, your parents were forced to flee from Herod’s murderous fear. Have pity on those who flee their homes today.Lord Jesus you travelled a dangerous road to

Egypt. Have mercy on those who travel on unsafe boats, in the back of lorries, or with help of traffickers because they can find no other wayLord hear our prayer for their safety  And let our cry come unto you
