Mormon Experiment

Mormons at my door by Randy Gamez For the past couple of weeks I have had two guys come visit me at my house. They drive around the neighborhood on bicycles, wear white shirts with a name tag, and carry a suit case with them. Yup, you thought ri ght, they are Mor mons. I decided that it would be a good experiment to find out on my own what these guys  believe. I have read many books and seen videos about them but it is different when you hear it from them pers onally. See, people tend to be biased about others who might be different than them or hold different beliefs that they a re never willing to sit down and converse with them. I am not saying to be so opened minded that your brain falls out, what I am saying is that sometimes we need to investigate things on our own and come to our own conclusion and not just let anyone do it for you. In my experiment I have two premises: 1. Never l et on that I know more about th e Bible t han the y do (7 yea rs of p ersona l study, 2 ½ years of Bible college, 5 years full time ministry) 2. Don’t a rgue, jus t ask ques tions and list en. (I le arned thi s lesso n after al most getting beat up by a big Jehovah’s Witness.) DAY 1 They were two young guys, one white and one Salvadori an. It was very obvious at the  beginning that the white guy was not very experienced. He was a novice at the whole “missionary” setting and he stuttered a lot but also made a lot of critical mistakes: one is he gave too much information. See, according to Mormon teachings it is ok to withhold information from prospective converts, even lie to them in order to convince them of certain “truths”. Of course that sounds like a contradiction because it is. We can be gods just like God and inherit and populate our own planets just like God did”. That statement was thrown in with their presentation on salvation. It made me flinch when I heard that, and it was not the only time I flinched throughout my conversations with them. I flinched because it shocked me that they would have let that one slip out right from the beginning. Plus it is offensive to think that any human being would think that he could eventually ascend to Godhood. There is only one God and it is  blasphemy to think otherwise. The “populating our own planet” part is about us men having our wives (plural) up there, having millions of spirit babies, (which are angels) and they take on human form and populate the planet. That is unreal, whoa! “Joseph smith was a prophet and he was told by an angel that all the churches were wrong and he needed to reestablish the true church and preach the true gospel.” Ok let’s get this right, there are a lot of wackos that have stood up an d proclaimed themselves as some great thing. It is not what you claim about yourself but what you can  prove that matters. Also if you claim that your authority comes from God then God himself will make it evident with real signs, wonders and p rophecies of things to come. Furthermore it is disturbing when a person declares his new form of religion as the true one and billions of people before hi m have been wrong for thousands of years.  Mormons at my door  by Randy Gamez For the past couple of weeks I have had two guys come visit me at my house. They drive

around the neighborhood on bicycles, wear white shirts with a name tag, and carry a suitcase with them. Yup, you thought right, they are Mormons.

I decided that it would be a good experiment to find out on my own what these guys believe. I have read many books and seen videos about them but it is different when you

hear it from them personally. See, people tend to be biased about others who might be

different than them or hold different beliefs that they are never willing to sit down andconverse with them. I am not saying to be so opened minded that your brain falls out,

what I am saying is that sometimes we need to investigate things on our own and come to

our own conclusion and not just let anyone do it for you.

In my experiment I have two premises:

1. Never let on that I know more about the Bible than they do (7 years of personal

study, 2 ½ years of Bible college, 5 years full time ministry)

2. Don’t argue, just ask questions and listen. (I learned this lesson after almostgetting beat up by a big Jehovah’s Witness.)

DAY 1

They were two young guys, one white and one Salvadorian. It was very obvious at the

beginning that the white guy was not very experienced. He was a novice at the whole“missionary” setting and he stuttered a lot but also made a lot of critical mistakes: one is

he gave too much information. See, according to Mormon teachings it is ok to withhold

information from prospective converts, even lie to them in order to convince them of

certain “truths”. Of course that sounds like a contradiction because it is.

“We can be gods just like God and inherit and populate our own planets just likeGod did”. That statement was thrown in with their presentation on salvation. It made meflinch when I heard that, and it was not the only time I flinched throughout my

conversations with them. I flinched because it shocked me that they would have let that

one slip out right from the beginning. Plus it is offensive to think that any human beingwould think that he could eventually ascend to Godhood. There is only one God and it is

blasphemy to think otherwise. The “populating our own planet” part is about us men

having our wives (plural) up there, having millions of spirit babies, (which are angels)

and they take on human form and populate the planet. That is unreal, whoa!

“Joseph smith was a prophet and he was told by an angel that all the churches were

wrong and he needed to reestablish the true church and preach the true gospel.” Ok let’s get this right, there are a lot of wackos that have stood up and proclaimed

themselves as some great thing. It is not what you claim about yourself but what you can

prove that matters. Also if you claim that your authority comes from God then Godhimself will make it evident with real signs, wonders and prophecies of things to come.

Furthermore it is disturbing when a person declares his new form of religion as the true

one and billions of people before him have been wrong for thousands of years. The Bible

is very clear that God has spoken to many people in various ways throughout the ages

and those who have faith in Him alone are accepted by him. I talk to God directly and I

don’t need some white boy chasing after his dick telling me that God won’t accept me if I

don’t follow him.

“We have received another ‘new testament’ of Jesus Christ and we are sharing it

with the world” I’m not sure if anyone reading this understands what a testament is; It isa last declaration and will of someone who is dying, the Hebrew word for it means a

“contract” or “deal”. This other ‘New Testament’ contains a made up story of supposed

Indian tribes that lived in America and how Jesus Christ came and preached to them. These missionaries gave me a condensed version; here goes an even more condensed

version: when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonian back in 605 BC some Jews traveled to

Spain, probably on the Greyhound, and took a cruise to America. When they were here

they built mighty empires and great cities and many became evil. The evil ones becamedark skinned and the good ones were light skinned. Eventually the dark ones killed off all

the light ones and those evil ones were cursed and they became the Native Americans.

Hence we have their justification in murdering hundreds of millions of Natives and

stealing all their lands. In some point in that story Jesus Christ appeared to them and preached to them. Ok, well here is the gap in this logic (or should I say “illogic”). The

Old Testament is a contract that was made by God with the children of Israel and it wasmade of laws (like the 10 commandments) and was sealed by the blood of sacrificial

lambs. The New Testament is a contract made by God with the whole world and was

made of the law of love and was sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Howcould there be another new testament, who died this time? What population of the earth is

left for him to make a contract with that is not included with the “whole world” contract?

Aliens? Is that why they call us “illegal aliens”? Furthermore there is no evidence (and

they even admitted they haven’t found any yet) of their ever being any great Jewishcivilizations here or there or anywhere. Natives have been on this land for over 50,000

years, much earlier than any of this made up story goes back to. Our empires and great

cities were built by our people who were geniuses and scholars. Is it hard to believe that anon-white can actually be smart and civilized? Our cities had sewers and running water

while Europeans were still living in caves.

DAY 2

This time they pulled out the guns on me being that I asked so many questions. They got

rid of the Salvadorian and brought another white guy that knew more. I thought the first

day was weird this was weirder.

“Joseph Smith had many wives because God told him to do it to inherit Godhood

and a test of true faith.” Apparently Joseph Smith had not one, or two, but 33. Here isan excerpt from a Pro-Mormon book explaining it. “ Beginning in the 1830s, at least thirty-three women married Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism. These were passionate relationships which also had some longevity, except in cases such as that of two young sisters, one of whom was discovered by Joseph's first wife, Emma, in a locked bedroom with the prophet. Emma remained a steadfast opponent of polygamy throughout her life. $

The majority of Smith's wives were younger than he, and one-third were between fourteen and twenty years of age. Another third were already married, and some of thehusbands served as witnesses at their own wife's polyandrous wedding. In addition, someof the wives hinted that they bore Smith children--most notably Sylvia Sessions'sdaughter Josephine--although the children carried their stepfather's surname.

For all of Smith's wives, the experience of being secretly married was socially isolating, emotionally draining, and sexually frustrating. Despite the spiritual and temporal benefits, which they acknowledged, they found their faith tested to the limit of itsendurance. After Smith's death in 1844, their lives became even more "lonely and desolate." One even joined a convent. The majority were appropriated by Smith's successors (  became other’s sanchas ), based on the Old Testament law of the Levirate, and had children by them, though they considered these guardianships unsatisfying.Others stayed in the Midwest and remarried, while one moved to California. But all considered their lives unhappy, except for the joy they found in their children and  grandchildren.“ This is freaking horrible, did you see that part about this guy marrying

other men’s wives in front of them? How about having an orgy with 2 young sisters?Yeah, that’s holy.

“God revealed to Joseph Smith and his successors that all dark skinned people are

cursed and all white people are blessed”. What the fuck!?! That is the most racist crap

I have ever heard. This is why blacks were not allowed into the Mormon church until thecivil rights movement shed light on this subject and racism became illegal. The weird

thing is that brown and black Mormons actually believe this crap too and they hate the

color of their skin? Malcom X once said, “Who taught you to hate the color of your skin?

Who taught you to hate the shape of your nose or the texture of your hair? Before youcome to me and ask me if I preach hate I ask you who taught you to hate everything that

God made you to be?

Conclusion

I know that I wrote a lot but I wish I could have written more. My thoughts of

Mormonism were solidified by this experiment and I personally conclude that it is a

racist, deceptive, illogical, irrational, stupid religion that is not worthy of my respect and

has no place in the Chicano Movement. Most Mormons themselves are nice people, theyare just normal people that have been deceived by this whacked out religion. If you are a

Mormon, please leave that religion and just believe in God alone. If you are not a

Mormon, good for you.
