Last week we received news that our applicaon for our Playground Upgrade had been successful as part NSW Department of Educaon Regional Renewal Co-Funding Program. The upgrade will see shade over the fixed equipment on the oval as well as adding new equipment and landscaping to the area. The project will be managed by NSW Department of Educaon Assets Unit. It will result in a wonderful space for our students to enjoy. Our school, like many other public schools in the state, will parcipate in a Department of Educaon iniave: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effecve teaching pracces. The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we do things at our school. I want to assure you that the survey is confidenal. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours and parcipang in the survey is enrely voluntary for students in Years 4, 5 and 6. Learning for all at Morgan Street

We find ourselves in the second last week of the term and currently enjoying some rain. Our thoughts and best wishes are with friends and family impacted by the floods on the east coast. It is devastating to see what is being experienced.

Last week we received news that our application for our Playground Upgrade had been successful as part NSW Department of Education Regional Renewal Co-Funding Program. The upgrade will see shade over the fixed equipment on the oval as well as adding new equipment and landscaping to the area. The project will be managed by NSW Department of Education Assets Unit. It will result in a wonderful space for our students to enjoy.

Our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we do things at our school. I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours and participating in the survey is entirely voluntary for students in Years 4, 5 and 6. If you do not want your child to participate then please contact the school.

Next Monday evening in the 3-6 staffroom we will be holding a P&C Meeting. All members of our school community are welcome to attend.

This week I will be attending the Term 1 meeting for the Far West Principals Network. This meeting will focus on finding out about new priorities and initiatives, their impact on our school and also raising issues that are impacting our school.

Have a wonderful week of learning.

On Thursday, Morgan Street kids joined hundreds of other children

around the state in the Big Vegie Crunch. We ate vegetables as

part of our morning Crunch and Sip break as a way to add more

vegetables into our day.

Medication and Health Conditions

If your child has a health condition and receives support at school requiring medication such as Ventolin for Asthma or other health conditions, you may have received a letter indicating that the medication or plan is out of date. Please ensure the school has updated plans and medication if needed, especially as we enter the cooler months. Please keep the school informed if your child’s health condition and / or treatments change. If your child is required to carry their own medication please advise the school so staff are aware and arrangements and support can be confirmed.

Last week students and staff wore something orange for Harmony Week which

celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a

sense of belonging for everyone.
