May 10, 2014 West Des Moines Community Schools Human Resources Impressions are made each time we encounter individuals for the first time. It is my pleasure to give you a glimpse of Molly McClelland as a person and a professional. In the eight years I have known Molly; I have seen firsthand her work ethic, integrity, leadership skills, organizational skills, intellectual ability, oral and written communication skills, analytical and conceptual skills, and much more. Molly is driven to be the best and uses her passion to success in all areas. It is easy to see where Molly will have continued success within the teaching profession. Hard work is nothing new to Molly. Throughout both her educational and athletic careers, she has been a tireless worker to reach success. Being a student/athlete throughout her educational career helped Molly become successful in many ways. Time management, organization, leadership, and working well with all types of people are just a few things Molly gained from being an integral part of many successful programs. Molly brought those same skills to the teaching realm. Her passion for the kids, her tireless work ethic and her ability to see the potential in the situation were vital in the improvement kids achieved in her tenure as a long term substitute. Molly was an outstanding student at both the high school and collegiate level, while maintaining a daunting schedule. She has been able to prioritize and strive to reach her goals, whether it is on a playing field, in the classroom, or in her pursuit of a career. Her ability to communicate with people in a kind and compassionate way will help Molly in her future classrooms. Molly is easy going, yet passionate. She has an excellent rapport when working with people. This connection is built by Molly’s ability to listen quietly to gain all of the information before making any rash judgments. This skill will serve her well in the classroom as a teacher. While I am only giving you one snapshot of who Molly McClelland is, I can guarantee I am not alone in these comments. Those who know Molly and her ability to work and lead people would tell you that she is going to be a success in any venture she undertakes because of her inner drive to reach her goals. Molly will be an exceptional Special Education instructor. Her students will benefit from her passion and kindness, as well as her practical understanding that the most successful teachers are those who connect with students. Molly will be an excellent addition to your staff. Kelli Moore Special Education Instructor Valley High School 515 633 4078
