Moodle in the EnterpriseRequirements:• Maintain educational histories, Moodle and non-Moodle• Group courses into curricula to achieve specific
educational goals (certification)• Manage and report on users at the curriculum level• Manage and report on users in system-wide groups
(departments, regions, etc.)• Provide automatic course requirements based on
curriculum definitions (pre-reqs., recurrences)• Maintain documents centrally
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
• Defined key learning elements to meet requirements
• Elements can be managed outside of Moodle and integrate into Moodle
• Key elements:– Courses– Classes– Curricula– Tracks– Users– Clusters
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Courses:• Define information on a
discreet set of learning elements – name, description, length, credits, environment, cost, required grades for completion and class template
• Is not a Moodle course• Is used to create classes
Course Demo
• Add/edit
• Moodle template selection
• Completion elements
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Classes:• Are an instance of a
course• Can be Moodle
courses (call “class”)• Have assigned users• Have defined start
and end dates• Have associated
grades and progress
Class Demo
• Add/Edit
• Moodle class assignment
• Manage enrolment data
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Curricula:• Collections of courses to
achieve a general educational goal (e.g. certificate)
• Contained courses can have pre-requisites, co-requisites, optional/required and repeat frequencies
• Used to report on educational progress
• Can be used to create tracks
Curriculum Demo
• Add / Edit
• Course assignment
• Pre and co requisites
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Tracks:• Are instances of
curriculum• Contain start and end
dates• Contain assigned users• Contain classes for each
curriculum course• Can be used to manage
bulk class enrolment
Track Demo
• Add / Edit and auto create
• Class assignment and auto-enrol
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Users:• Define the people
managed by the system• May or may not have
corresponding Moodle users
• Linked by ‘id-numbers’• Contain the necessary
information needed outside of Moodle
• Can be entered into the system via plug-ins
Users Demo
• Add / Edit
• Enrol in class (Class interface)
• Enrol in track (Track interface)
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Clusters:• Groupings of people by
enterprise definitions• Are system-wide• Can be managed by
users restricted to that cluster
• Provide reporting and enrolment by cluster functions
• Membership can be auto-managed
Cluster Demo
• Add / Edit
• Assign cluster to track – cluster screen
• Assign cluster to track – track screen
• Assign user to cluster – cluster screen
• Assign user to cluster – user screen
User Class Auto-Enrolment Demo
• Assign user to track – enrolled in classes
• Assign user to cluster assigned to track – enrolled in classes
User Cluster Auto-Enrol Demo
• Assign profile field value to cluster enrol
• Assign profile field value to user – observe cluster enrolment, track enrolment, class enrolment
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Events and Notifications:• Send messages on
critical events to specified users
• Use Moodle messaging system
• Messages can be customized per event
• Recipients can be defined by capabilities assigned to roles
Event Notification Demo
• Event Notification config screen
• Look at received events in Moodle messages
ELIS (Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite)
Reports:• Generated through the
JasperSoft BI system• SSO via Moodle
Networks• Reports per user an
cluster• Drill-down and Ad-hoc
reporting• Graphical reporting
tools
Reports Demo
• Curricula report
• Users report and transcript
• Forum participation report
• Course completion gas gauge
• …

Document Repository:• Integration with
Alfresco Repository• Similar to Moodle 2.0
repository API• Also allows upload
functions• Provides course and
user level spaces
Repository Demo
• Repository settings main screen
• Front page “site files” interface
• Choose local download or link
