Monthly Newsletter May 2020
Grace and peace be unto you from God,
our Father and our Lord and savior,
Jesus Christ. Amen.
God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good!
Let us all continue to always be reminded of the goodness, graciousness and hope-filled promise of our God, especially during these times of social distancing that seem to never end. We are in a heightened state of “Am I safe, are others safe, can I safely get my needs”, and “when will this end?” and “what’s going to happen as everything opens again?” It may seem on the surface like we are focusing merely on the safety of ourselves, especially as we look at other people in stores as we steer clear or as we talk to others from a significant distance apart. I sadly learned of Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp sending out word that they have cancelled their on-site summer programming and Day Camp (VBS) programs at congregations. It has me down. Part of my thoughts were personal about not being able attend with my kids.
YET.
“YET” can be a very powerful word in terms of strength of our hope and trust in our God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. “YET” can imply that there is something else, that despite what may have been stated, seen, heard, etc. – that there is something else that continues, that marches forth, that provides the hope that someone is with us and there is something more that is beyond
what we currently fret and have concerns about.
“Let us all continue to always be reminded of the goodness,
graciousness and hope-filled promise of our God”

Covid-19 is happening. YET – we come together
for the sake of all brothers and sisters in the
world to pursue and hope for wellness, safety and
health to all around the globe. We social distance
for a greater purpose than ourselves. While we
grieve over the loss of lives, YET we rejoice over
those recovered and those staying well, and we
rejoice for all those risking themselves who lead
the way in continuing to provide care and basic
needs of people. YET, we continue to contact and
check in with one another in various other ways:
letters, phone calls, social media outlets, drive-by
social distancing visits, kind reminders that we
are #AllInThisTogether. YET…YET…YET!
YET, our God continues as always to deliver on
God’s promise: to walk through these things with
us, to grieve as we grieve, to rejoice as we rejoice,
to remind us that life continues and struggles
end, to remind us that we are never alone.
Fortune Lake has cancelled summer programs,
YET God remains and will continue to give us
this Place of Grace for future usage and calls us
together in memories and in the bond of Chris-
tian love and witness.
We still do not meet currently at our congrega-tion’s building, YET we are still Church together. YET we still cling to God and cling to one another in caring and loving witness as servant leaders. We see Church active in our community.
God, our Creator, longs and desires to always be
in a relationship with us, the created. God is with
us as we long and desire to for this time of dis-
tancing to end. And in that manner, God contin-
ues to call us through knowing “YET”.
Brothers and sister in Christ Jesus – call on the
Holy Spirit to continue to surround us with
“YET”. Let us embrace, consume, digest, embody,
exude, and share “YET” to all. God is in the “YET”
we seek, and God calls us to be in the “YET” as
well.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death
will be no more; mourning and crying and pain
will be no more, for the first things have passed
away.” Revelation 21:4
“He’ll wipe every tear from our eye, and make
everything new just like He promised. Wait. And.
See…” (Steven Curtis Chapman quoting Revela-
tion in his song “See”: https://
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-25KlfLJOFg )
May our God of grace and glory and peace and love and strength and…”YET” continue to be with you all. Stay safe. Be well. Be blessed and be a blessing.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Happy mother’s day to all you moms!
In the past, this was a very hard day to get through. It was a smack in my face, dagger-thrust to my heart kind of day. Filled with sorrow, pain, anger, envy, remorse & yearning; a day filled with self-pity. (But that’s okay!) A celebratory day for others, but a reminder of my lost dream. A dream I had since I was a little girl. A dream (a desire) as most little girls have... of being a mom.
To all you who struggle on Mother’s day because of this lost dream, I understand the hurts and frustrations associated with it. And above all, God does too!
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. ~ 1 Peter 5:10.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:7
For any circumstance you find yourself in that has prevented you from having your own child, I pray that each one of you finds the peace you need to get through!
Infertility to me was like being on the outside, looking into a room that I longed to be a part of. A club per se’, a place that I was unfit to be. But that’s the misconception! I was NOT unfit!! Even though I could not conceive did not mean that I was any less special than those who could.
Let me repeat that! To you who need to hear this... Your childlessness does NOT make you unfit, incomplete, or inadequate in any way! You ARE precious, lovely, special, and whole. Not being able to have your own child does not make you any less of a woman!
“For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” ~ Ephesians 2:10
To God be the glory, through the tough times, and the good! AMEN!
