opportunity (through learning and knowledge-sharing) to a different world: a world where I will be conveniently placed to effectively chart out my professional career with whatever private sector(s) it might be possible in the future. Apart from the communication department, I also got a chance to work with other departments. Having worked with Human Resource (HR) and Education Department (ED), I found them both very supportive and welcoming. My thanks must go to them.
An interesting yet a challenging task was to arrange training sessions for ourselves. It was difficult to motivate as most of the professionals were
hesitant. But we did not give up. We became too stubborn in our demand and kept on pestering them constantly.
The scene was not less than that of a battle field. We were like demons running after them and they were trying to escape as if for their life. But still, we netted some people and later they conquered us through their sincere cooperation and professional support. Mr. Ismail, Mr. Cheema, Ms. Seemi, Mr. Khayyam, Mr. Kamal, Mr. Shams Uddin, Dr. Zahoor, Ms. Nadia Mr. Shukoor and Ms. Shumaila a Big Thank You for your cooperation.
Although there was a friendly environment
and everyone was quite fun-loving but some people were always as serious as stone. I wondered why? Later it transpired they were accountants. Mean no offence!!
We were afforded chances to participate in diverse professional tasks. Communication department encouraged us to contribute for the newsletter. I kept awaiting for it to get published, and when I finally grabbed a copy, it was 'Najia' not 'Najma' who wrote it, but at least those were my words printed right there. It's no good crying over spilt milk anyway.
Every morning we waited quite restlessly for clock to strike 10, as we interns used to
gather at dining table for breakfast. We will miss asking and texting each other “nashta kia hai?” “parathe mangwa lo yar” and top of that we will definitely miss Siraj Uncle, Oopps Sorry! “Siraj BHAI” as he used to fetch us paratha every morning.
Thank you HF for giving us a chance to be a part of you and your vision and thanks to all the staff for being very supportive and cooperative, especially my mentors Ms. Nadia Ms. Seemi and Mr. Shams Uddin.
Finally to my friends and my fellow interns, I wish you all Godspeed. I'd wait for the day we meet again.

Social Welfare Program team always encourages its beneficiaries to take self-sustained initiatives so that they could be able to ensure their livelihood in the long run. SWP team, with the consent of Ms. Rafiq-un-Nisa, devised a small
business plan for the family and the lady was provided with some cash that would help her run the General Store.
During a recent follow up visit,
it was observed that the business was being successfully
run; with an average income of PKR. 12000/ per month, which was more than that of the monthly assistance she received from the Foundation. Due to an increase in the household income, the family is now able to meet their household expense with ease and is living a comfortable life.
Other than the financial impact of the business, a significant change in Ms. Rafiq un Nisa's health was observed. Instead of sitting alone at home, she now spends more time at her shop where she interacts
with people and feels more relieved and refreshed.
Rafiq-un-Nisa annotated that:“This was the time when we lost our head of the family, without him we were unable to run our lives smoothly. For me it was very difficult to educate and nourish my children and take care of the household expense simultaneously. In this crucial situation HF's contribution made us capable of sustaining a decent livelihood”.
A Tale of Five Demons! I mean “Interns”
With all due respect!
Our journey started four months ago when Hashoo Foundation welcomed us aboard on January 2nd, 2015. Now it's time to bid a heavy-hearted farewell. OMG! It's been four months! It's
amazing to see how time goes by, such a big day! Congratulations to all the interns.
It was one sunny and beautiful morning filled with enthusiasm for us. It was, nonetheless, a big day of course for the Hashoo Foundation, as we were to join it as interns. We were asked to come at 9:30 am for an orientation but were made to wait till 3:00 pm…all our efforts to look good went in
vain. Nonetheless, it was redeemed by a very good orientation and delicious lunch served to us at the end.
I would like to acknowledge and thank Hashoo Foundation for giving me the opportunity to share my feelings and experience. But let this experience be shared, painted on a canvas of fun.
Four months ago I was not the same person as I am today.
There have been multiple reasons for this constructive change. I owe profuse thanks, most importantly, to my savior, internet and google. Bravo to MS word and excel! Without you I couldn't have survived in communication department.
I personally hold in high esteem of the four months I experienced with HF as an intern. To me it's akin to a window of
Health Box360-degree approach to allergiesIt's that time of year again when those nagging, allergy symptoms appear, causing many of us to feel weighed down. If you find yourself surrendering to the common symptoms that accompany the beautiful spring weather, please read this article.
First, lets discuss WHAT allergies truly are,
Allergies are essentially due to an imbalance of the immune system that causes a more heightened than necessary response to stimuli from the environment. Oftentimes, when the body is in a state of dis-
ease or imbalance, there is more likelihood of inappropriate responses to triggers.
From a natural health viewpoint, allergies may be a result of disease in the body, ranging from immune dysfunction, adrenal imbalance, digestive issues or hormonal irregularity. To combat
allergic symptoms, we must consider what the root cause of this response may be to prevent future misery. These are some natural and effective therapies to help you seek allergy relief:

Birthday BitesPeople born in April are brave, adventurous, and do not scare easily. They are also very loving and caring people. They are the ones who have the best memories. They are also good people to talk to because they are good at consoling people and solving problems. They are extremely generous, but they are very aggressive. They are
quick in their decision and often regret having made the choices that they made. When they get sick, it usually has something to do with their head or their chest. They have trouble showing their feelings and often bottle them up inside of talking about them
prevent the colle-ction of unwanted allergens into your home. The carpet dust contains 70% of our dead skin which we shed every months.
2. Invest in an air purifier.
Cleansing the air you are exposed to in the home or workplace will limit your chronic exposure to allergens.
3. Shower at the end of your day.
Dust and pollens may collect on clothing, hair and skin throughout your day. Showering will help rinse off any of these environmental triggers, therefore limiting your exposure and calming any reactions.
4. Use a neti pot or nasal rinse.
Flushing your nasal passages is a great way to wipe clean any collection of pollens, etc. This will also help astringe mucus membranes, allowing any inflammation and irritation to subside. The standard solution used is saline, though you can add
a small amount of essential oils, including Hydrastis (Goldenseal) for added, astringent effects. Applying mustard or coconut oil to your nostrils at bed time is also a very effective mucosal stabilizer.
5. Sleep with a humidifier at night.
Added moisture in your environment will help nourish and moisten the nasal mucosa, calming any inflammation or irritation. You can add essential oils, such as eucalyptus or lavender to the solution for added benefit.
6. Supplement with natural antihistamines.
Bioflavonoids, including quercitin, hesperidin and catechin, are derived from foods and plants. These compounds help stabilize mast cells in the body that are responsible for producing histamine. Citrus fruits, onions, apples, parsley, green tea, tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce and greens are naturally high in quercetin. During seasonal allergy months,
patients are encouraged to supplement with high doses of bioflavonoids to help build up levels and prevent allergic episodes. Fun Fact: Taking Bromelain (Enzyme from pineapple) or vitamin C can enhance the effects of bioflavonoids. Fish oil is also very helpful in fighting allergies. NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) is a powerful antioxidant with properties that help to quench free radicals, as well as break up mucus.Nettle leaf (Bichoo Boti) is an herb that actually inhibits the body's ability to produce histamine and, therefore, can be an effective, preventative measure.Various herbs, including Cinnamon, garlic, thyme, fennel, as well as chamomile and green tea, contain compounds that limit the production of histamines and can be helpful in preventing allergic symptoms.
7. Consume Probiotics.Consuming enough beneficial bacteria
can have a positive effect on allergies. By simply balancing your gut bacteria, you can help manage your immune response. An encapsulated probiotic, as well as fermented foods and drinks like Fresh Yogurt, kombucha or kefir, can help boost good gut bacteria.
8. Use honey. The principle of honey being effective for the management of allergies is solely related to pollen allergies. You must seek out honey with a good amount of pollen content for these benefits, or you can go straight to the source and use raw pollen in small doses to help desensitize your reaction to regional pollen. Note: Make sure your honey is raw honey and from your region to provide the utmost benefit.
