Women of the Word – Bethel Arcadia Group August 8, 2021 meeting minutes.

Those present: Sandy Witte, JoAnne Wier, Amy Thorn, Gina Steinlicht, Rosa and Isabelle Mooney, Gaylene Mohror, Debbie Koch, Janice Knudsen, Anita Kiral, Mardelle Arnoldy.

The treasury contains a total of $1,133.79.

W.o.W. is planning a garage sale for Sept. 24 & 25. The proceeds from the sale will be used for a variety of worthy causes.

The group talked about developing a plan for Advent by Candlelight this year. It is tentatively scheduled for the first Sunday in December at 4 PM.

W.o.W. is planning a bridal shower for Olivia Knudsen to be held on November 13th.

Debbie Koch reported on the additions to the sanctuary, new banners and altar clothes, that were purchased with a special offering from Laverne Putz. The altar clothe colors match the paraments and will be embroidered. The banners are on display and some will be shared with the Galesville sanctuary.

At the bottom right corner is the name “Vanco”. This company safely processes our transactions. We have used Vanco since early in 2020.

Online Offering Plate Update Our Bethel website provides people with a way to give offerings to our church. You may have used this online offering plate yourself.

This update shows how that page now looks differently, yet is still a safe and easy way to give your offerings.

Bethel’s name at the top left, shows that

the page is a part of our church’s ministry.

Between Bethel’s name and address is the email address of Bethel’s Recording Secretary, Ben Branson. You can contact Ben if you have questions about this feature.

At the top right corner, you can “Sign Up” as a first time user or “Log In” to use this feature again. Once you’re in, the “Basket” link displays the amount you intend to give.

To use the online offering plate feature:

1) Sign up or Log in 2) Click the blue “Contribute” button. 3) Follow the directions as they appear; you will decide…

a. how much to give (to the “General” fund of Bethel Lutheran), b. when to give and, c. by what means to give (by bank transfer or card payment).

4) Finally, click “Profile” at the top of the screen, and then click “Log Out” at the left of the screen.

When you go to our website and click on the “online offering plate” picture,

a new webpage tab will open. On the screen, you will see an image like the one below.
