Nova Central Chapter participated in District a4 Council

meeting with DBS Chairman Ar. Don Magcale of Nova

Central Chapter. Agenda of the meeting is the

forthcoming Design – Built Services (DBS) Seminar ON

Februar 10, 2018, Saturday at CW Home Depot Events

Hall – Makati. DBS Chairman explained the required

collaterals for the events. We were able to final the

designation of task for each Chapter, agreed by all.

Objective of the Activity To explore, appreciate and further have a deeper knowledge on the significance of the Historical Places within Walls of Intramuros, beneficial to us, Architects.

Nova Central Historical Tour “Byaheng Intramuros “

visited the San Agustin Church, where we were being

assisted by Mr. Fernando Andam, an accredited (DOT)

Department of Tourism Tour Guide. He clearly shared

to us the History of the Baroque Style Church, now in

its 447 years.

Shown is the very intricate handcrafted door, (still the

original) done by Chinese origin.

Enjoying the History and the view.

Inside San Agustin Church, the place where Miguel Lopez de

Legazpi was buried. Shown is one of the altar’s pillar and the

very delicate and extremely beautiful ceiling in which was

actually a 3 – dimensional paint.

The Casa Manila as

explained is a copy of San

Nicolas House which was

built by Mrs. Imelda

Marcos in the 1980.

A typical “Bahay na Bato”

modelled on Spanish

Colonial Architecture has

3 floors and this

represents the life of the

elite class or the one

called Illustrados during

those era.

This is a bastion and part of the Spanish colonial fortification within

Intramuros wall.

Nova Central Chapter tour at Fort Bonifacio,

Intramuros. We were shown around the defense

fortress wall, and has a very rich history, where our

National hero Dr. Jose Rizal was imprisoned.

The group enjoyed so much the

very informative “Byaheng

Intramuros”, where we explored

and experienced our history!

San Agustin Church, Casa Manila

Museum, Baluarte de San Diego

and Fort Bonifacio are only part

of the historical places within the

walls of Intramuros, there are so

much more to learn!

Nova Central Chapter’s participation in District A4 Council meeting. Topic of discussion is the finalization of

the (DBS) Design – Build Services Seminar coming this February 10, 2018. Updating of information as per

Chapters designated task, such as the physical arrangements of the venue, sound systems, meals and

snacks, certificates, plaques, collaterals, and total number of attendees. Furthermore, we were able to

address other issues and concern on the specific details.

Next District Council meeting is set on February 6, 2018, Tuesday.
