Winter Uniform begins November 1st – The new chill in the air serves as a gentle reminder that it is that time of
year! On Wednesday, November 1st, all students should come to school wearing their regular winter uniform.
Please refer to page 38 in the 2017-2018 Parent & Student Handbook for a complete description of the uniform
requirements for your child(ren). Please note that the old “rocking cross logo” is no longer acceptable as part of
the uniform.
Picture Re-takes/Absentee Day – Galeone Photographers will be at the school on Monday, November 6th, to
take individual pictures for those students who were absent on their picture day. Also, if you are interested in
having your child’s picture re-taken, please return the photo package in its entirety on this day. All students
having their picture taken/re-taken, may come to school out of uniform. Please follow the out-of-uniform
guidelines listed on page 39 of the 2017-2018 Parent & Student Handbook.
Chick-fil-A Calendar Sale and Spirit Night – Help us raise funds for our Tuition Assistance Program by
supporting our Chick-fil-A fundraisers. We are selling 2018 Chick-fil-A calendars for $8 each. Every calendar
offers $30 in coupons for free Chick-fil-A items throughout the 2018 year. We are also holding a Spirit Night
fundraiser on November 13th from 4-8 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A on West Nursery Road in Linthicum. Please join us
to help earn money for tuition assistance as you enjoy a delicious Chick-fil-A meal with your family and friends.
See the attached fliers for more details.
Printer cartridge collection discontinued – Because there are only a few brands being accepted for recycling,
the effort has become greater than the benefit for this project; therefore, at this time, we have decided to end the
printer cartridge recycling program. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Monsignor Slade Catholic School is to promote Catholic faith and intellectual development in our students. We do this by
teaching about and modeling the precepts of the Catholic faith, as well as challenging our students with a rigorous course of study. We do
this so that they will use their faith, knowledge, and skills to shape their futures positively and work for the benefit of the whole society.

small snacks will be available for purchase. If you have questions, contact Kerry McDaniel at 443-514-8696 or

this year will be even better! All active committee members will earn their total amount of required service hours

participate in set up, and to work during the event. If you are interested in becoming a part of our committee,
please contact Martha Sidlowski at [email protected] and plan to attend the meeting on the 14th.

“Spirit of Slade” “Spirit of Slade” “Spirit of Slade” Referral Program
Monsignor Slade Catholic School is excited to announce a Family Referral Program, “Spirit of Slade,”
that will apply toward the 2018-2019 school year. Please consider sharing the opportunity to be en-
riched by the “Spirit of Slade” and this community with other families. Our parents and current stu-
dents are our greatest ambassadors; we count on you to help our school grow and succeed. This
program will reward both currently enrolled full-time Pre-K4 - 7th grade families who have referred
new families to Monsignor Slade Catholic School and the new family who enrolls.
Current Families
Open to all MSCS families with currently enrolled Pre-K4 (full-time) through 7th grade students
For every new family that lists your family's name in the “Referred by” field on their enrollment applicant form and
completes one full year of school with us, your family will receive a $250 tuition credit for the following school year.
Tuition credits are awarded on a per FAMILY, not per student, basis.
You may refer more than one new family and receive additional credit. The amount of referral tuition credits cannot
exceed the total Catholic rate tuition for any given year. Tuition credits cannot be redeemed for cash.
For example:
You recommend Family A for next year. Family A registers, lists your family in the “Referred by” field on the application
form, and successfully completes the 2017-2018 school year at Slade. Your family will then receive $250 credit toward the
2018-2019 school year in FACTS.
Your family was also listed on Family B’s application and they successfully completed the 2017-18 school year. Your family
will receive another $250 credit toward the 2018-2019 school year.
This can be repeated additional times for the same school year until the credit to your account equals one full 2018-2019
tuition rate (registered Catholic amount). *For referring family only.
Prospective New Families
A new family is defined as a family NOT currently enrolled in either the Pre-K program on the Pre-K4- 8th grade at MSCS.
Prospective families receive a $250 tuition credit by listing the fully enrolled Pre-K4 (full-time) - 7th grade Referring Fami-
ly’s name on their initial enrollment application. Tuition credits are awarded on a per FAMILY, not per student, basis.
Tuition credits are not transferrable.
Only one family may be listed as a Referring Family. There are no exceptions to this.
New family must be registered by October 31, 2017, and complete the entire 2017-2018 school year and be current on all ac-
counts in order to earn $250 credit toward 2018-2019 tuition.
Monsignor Slade Catholic School reserves the right to change, amend, or end this program at any time.
