CALL TO ORDER Statement is hereby made that adequate notice of this meeting has been properly provided by the
giving of a meeting notice, by mailing same to the Hub Newspaper, and Asbury Park Press on
Wednesday January 10, 2018, filing same on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, with the clerk of the
Borough of Tinton Falls, Borough of Eatontown and the Township of Shrewsbury, and by
prominently posting said notice on the Monmouth Regional High School Internet Web page and
the main doors into the High School building in the Administration wing on Wednesday January
10, 2018.

On a recommendation of the Superintendent, motion by Mr. Gaetano, seconded by Dr. Uddin,
and carried THAT: the Board approves the following:
I. APPOINTMENT OF TREASURER OF SCHOOL MONEYS
CINDY BARR-RAGUE be appointed to the position of Treasurer of School Moneys to
serve from this date until June 30, 2019 at a salary of $3,647

II. APPOINTMENT OF SCHOOL PHYSICIAN
Dr. Harmady as school physician for the 2018-2019 school year at an annual fee of
$8,900 ($100/hour – approximate number of hours 66 during school year and 23 during
summer).
Note: the foregoing appointment is being made without competitive bidding as a
“professional Service” under the provisions of the Public School Contracts Law (NJSA
18A:18A-5 et seq) because said profession cannot reasonably be described by written
specifications and is regulated by law and the performance of which services required
knowledge of an advanced formal type in a field of learning acquired by a prolonged
course of specialized instruction and study as distinguished from general academic
instruction or apprenticeship training. Under PL 2006, c271 s.2 any contract awarded in
excess of $17,500 outside the bid process must be accompanied by C271 Political
Contribution Disclosure Form prior to the award of the contract.
III. CDL TESTING
The Board Secretary to execute an agreement with Prevention Specialists located in
Asbury Park for the following fees:
Administrative Fee $475.00
DOT Drug Test $69.00
DOT Breath Alcohol Test $38.00
As identified in Board Policy 4117.6 Commercial Driver's Licensees Drug and Alcohol
Testing Policy.

V. TRAVEL LIMITS
The Board approve the following:
WHEREAS, the Monmouth Regional Board of Education recognizes school staff and
Board members will incur travel related to and within the scope of their current
responsibilities and for travel that promotes the delivery of instruction or furthers the
efficient operation of the school district; and
WHEREAS, N.J.A.C. 6A:23B-1.1 et seq. requires Board members to receive approval of
these expenses by a majority of the full voting membership of the Board and staff
members to receive prior approval of these expenses by the Superintendent and a
majority of the full voting membership of the Board; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education approves all travel not in
compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23B-1.1 et seq. as being necessary and unavoidable as
noted on the approved Board of Education Reimbursement forms; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Board of Education approves travel and related
expense reimbursements in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23B-1.2(b), to a maximum
expenditure of $38,840 for all staff and board members.
It is to be noted that the travel amounts spent in Federal Grants of April 30, 2018 are as
follows:

VI. AUTHORIZATION TO IMPLEMENT THE 2018-2019 BUDGET:
MARIA A. PARRY, School Business Administrator, to implement the 2018-2019
Budget for all funds.
VII. STATE HEALTH BENEFITS WAIVER
The Board waive participation on the State of NJ Health Benefits Program for 2018-
2019.
VIII. INTEREST EARNED ON BONDS:
The interest earned on bonds outstanding to be placed back into the General Fund for
2018-2019.
IX. DISTRICT PRINTING FEE:
The district printing fee of the hourly rate of the printer (per MREA Contract pending
negotiations) plus any supplies, if needed for 2018-2019.

Mr. Gaetano: Mr. Gaetano reported that he would be resigning his position on the board
effective June 19, 2018.

At this time, the Board members thanked Mr. Gaetano for his 20+ years of service.
Ms. Van Wagner: Ms. Van Wagner asked if there would be a graduation bus. Mrs. Parry
replied that there would be a bus.
Ms. Linder: Ms. Linder reported she attended the Monmouth County School Boards Dinner
(and received her 10 year service award), and the Girl Scouts Council Dinner where she received
a 25 year service award.
Ms. Fisher: Ms. Fisher reported she attended track and field meets, lacrosse and baseball
games.
Dr. Uddin: Dr. Uddin reported she attended the Monmouth County School Boards Dinner. The
spring concert is Thursday Night and she will be at the business class event tomorrow.
Mr. Mauro: Mr. Mauro reported he attended the Monmouth County School Boards Dinner.
Mr. Cohen: Mr. Cohen reported he attended Jazz Nite and commented that the baseball team
would be playing at the Blue Claws stadium Thursday night.
