MOM’S GROUP STUDY: WE SAVED YOU A SEAT by LISA-JO BAKER Meets Mar 29-May 10 // Room 250 “LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY.” – COLOSSIANS 3:16A In today’s busy world, we’re wired to appear “fine,” warding off authenticity and shielding ourselves from judgment. We hide behind the hum of busyness to escape intimate friendships with the women God has placed in our lives. But we do want a seat at the table. We yearn for authentic relationships and the opportunity to be the opposite of “fine” with people who cheer for us. But comparison, envy, and entitlement often stop us from pulling out a chair at the table. Friendship can be hard, making new friends even harder, and maintaining genuine friendship the hardest of all. In this 7-session Bible study, Lisa-Jo Baker and friends from (in)courage explore our relationship with Jesus as the ultimate model for authentic friendship. Nothing shapes us like the impact of a friend—it’s how Jesus radically and intimately connects with us. So instead of chasing perfection, overcome your fear of being known and find the courage to connect. Books are not available at Crossings, please purchase from your favorite retailer. Participant registration is encouraged. Childcare is available for 5 months thru 4 years old. (For new participants childcare space is limited, contact Susan Aldredge at [email protected] for availability.) TRUTHFILLED by RUTH CHOU SIMONS Meets Mar 29-May 10 // Room 244 “LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY.” – COLOSSIANS 3:16A Many of us want God’s Word to dwell richly in us, but life can get in the way. We’d never intentionally write chapters of confusion, failure, loss, pain, conflict, or suffering into our stories. No one plans to wrestle with her identity in Christ, to struggle to love her husband, to feel lonely in ministry, or to feel helpless in motherhood. Yet we often find ourselves in these seasons, struggling to embrace the gospel hope we need to fill our discouraged souls. Join Ruth Chou Simons in this seven-session study of the Book of Colossians as she leads us through a practice of preaching gospel truth to ourselves by studying Paul’s example. In every changing season of life, we can rest in God’s character, rehearse our identity in Christ, respond in faith, and remember God’s provision for us. In today’s culture, there’s no shortage of self help, easy fixes, and worldly advice, but only the truth of God’s Word was meant to fill you up and satisfy you fully. Books are not available at Crossings, please purchase from your favorite retailer. Participant registration is encouraged. Childcare is available for 5 months thru 4 years old. (For new participants childcare space is limited, contact Susan Aldredge at [email protected] for availability.)
