Monday 25th MayReading: Log into Scholastic and read your assigned
book. Why not record yourself for your teacher, she would love to hear you. ☺Sound: Last week’s sound was igh. It makes the /ie/ sound. This week we will look at y making the /ie/ sound. Watch this video and list all the /y/ words you hear. (There’s no need to write them).Procedural Writing: This week, we will be looking at procedural writing. This is writing that gives instructions. E.g. a recipe or a set of directions. Talk through the procedural writing sheet (below) with your child. We need bossy verbs for procedural writing. Pretend you are Little Ms/Mr Bossy and give some instructions. Make sure each sentence starts with a bossy verb e.g. Do your work. Wash your hands. Write your name. Cut the page in half.Complete the bossy verb worksheet below.

Procedural Writing: Pretend you are writing instructions on how to make a sandwich for someone who has never made a sandwich before. Maybe someone could help you make one first before you start your writing. That way the steps will be fresh in your head. Don’t forget to start each sentence with a bossy verb e.g. cut, spread, place etc.
