You are going to be adding equal groups to understand multiplica-

tion as repeated addition. Look at the sheet in you pack.

What can you do to find the total?

How many socks would you have if you had one more pair?

You could use pairs of socks at home to support and to find other

equal groups.

the beach.

How do you think that made him feel?

3. You are going to imagine that you have spotted the whale stuck

and need to ask for help to get him back in the water.

4. Write a letter to some asking for their help to save the whale?

6. Extra– You could make a thank you card as the whale to thank

those that helped him return to the ocean.

What does multiplication mean?

Remember it is the same as repeated addition and is the same

amount added each time e.g. 4 x 5 = 5+5+5+5

Look at the challenge cards in your pack and answer.

Draw pictures and images to support and/or use counting resources

at home e.g. lego/pasta/sweets.

CREATIVE L.O. To use language to imagine and recreate roles and experiences in

play situations.

Discuss what a toy shop is like (toys on shelves for people to see,

price tags to see how much the toys are to buy, a shop keeper that

will answer any questions you have and take the money for the toy

you wish to buy)

Think about: How could we make a pretend toy shop? How could we

display the toys to sell? How much do we think we should sell these

toys for? Which toy will be the most expensive? Which toy will be the

cheapest? Do you think we should have any toy offers on? I wonder if

they buy one toy, would they get another one free!

Writing and Drawing: Can you write a fact sheet about

llamas to help other people learn all about them?

2. The snail and the whale travel

across the ocean to visit many places together. Have you

travelled on the ocean on a boat?

3. Can you use the ocean as the main setting and write a

description about it?

Time to think-

If they were in the middle of the ocean...

What would they see around them?

What would they hear?

Would they see other sea creatures?

4. Have a go writing a description answering the questions above.
