Thank you to the band parent support group who also assisted with transport and equipment.

2015 Student Enrolments: We are now being asked to provide anticipated enrolment numbers for 2015. All students who are 4 ½ to 6 years of age are entitled to start school in 2015 in our Kindergarten classes. If you have students who are in this age group, or know of families of students in this age group, or any neighbours who currently attend other schools and would like to attend Eleebana PS in Kinder to Year 6 in 2015, could you (and tell them to) please contact the school office for an application form for enrolment. The Great Book Swap

On Wednesday the 22nd October students at Eleebana will have the opportunity to participate in the Indigenous Literacy Foundation Great Book Swap and to come dressed up as their Favourite Book character. The foundation celebrates books and reading and it raises much needed funds for the Foundation's literacy work. We ask that students bring along one of their books they may no longer read anymore and for a gold coin donation they can swap it for someone else’s. We would also love to see all the students come dressed as their favourite book character to celebrate our love of the magical world of books. Students are also asked to bring in a gold coin for this. All the money raised is donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which works toward raising literacy levels in remote indigenous communities around Australia. They focus on promoting early exposure to appropriate and quality books in the home and community through the supply of books. The Foundation strongly support first language and culture and work with the remote communities to translate books which represent both English and first language. They are also committed to encouraging and supporting story writing and the development of community stories through publications. We ask that all book donations are brought to school by Monday the 20th October so we can arrange them for the stall and sort them into the appropriate age groups, looking forward to seeing all the costumes and book donations.
