Assuming the thickest setting on your pasta machine is number 1 roll translucent clay to number 2 make into a rectangle cover with gold or silver leaf then choose alcohol inks in complimentary colors. Make sure they are not colors that will turn to mud. Randomly cover sheet with drops of ink allowing the colors to blend, a little ink goes a long way do not over saturate. set aside to dry. Roll out black clay on number 3, roll out 2 sheets of white on a number 4. sandwich the black in the middle of the white. roll the black/white stack on number 2. Put the black and white stack on top of the inked stack. If the inked stack isn't dry you can blot with a paper towel before stacking. At this point you can choose whether or not to run the whole stack through on a 1 or 2. The thinner the stack the more detail you will get when you cut into it but it looks good even without this step. Trim the stack, cut in half and stack. if the stack is large enough cut in half again and stack. Now disturb the stack by cutting into it, using tools and cutters to press into it etc. compress the stack until it is one piece again. Stick stack to a tile and full take slices.
