This 3-credit first course for computer science & IT majors, which provides students the basic understanding of the most exciting area of computer security. This course is designed for those students with no prior knowledge of Data Security technology. It describes the basic concepts, which underpin the technology of data security systems. The main areas covered are Public Key Cryptography, Digital Signatures, Identification and Authentication, Secret Sharing Keys, Subliminal Channels, Special Protocols, Internet and Web Security, and e-commerce Security.
