Growth of my PLN• Over the semester the number of accounts I followed grew as

I saw the individuals who I originally followed retweet resources from other useful accounts that I subsequently followed.

• I also gained several followers as I built my PLN, meaning that I can not only listen but be heard as well.

• Forming Twitter relationships may be extremely helpful in the future as it will allow me to have a variety of resources from which to draw inspiration and to discuss educational techniques and learning tools.

Who is in my PLN?

I follow a variety of education-related accounts on Twitter. They range from individuals within various school boards to education news services like eSchool News to educational services like Edmodo to divisions of large corporations like Microsoft Education.

eSchool News (@eSchoolNews)

• A news service that focuses on the use of technology in the classroom

• Regularly tweets technological resources that could be useful for teachers, such as links to helpful YouTube channels or online webinars

• Tweets about the newest developments in the area of educational technology, discussing new breakthroughs and fresh ideas on how to implement technology in the classroom in an engaging and effective manner

Edmodo (@Edmodo)• Official Twitter account for the social learning website• Tweets helpful resources and articles for both teacher and

student use• Tweets (and retweets) ideas about new interesting and

creative ways to use Edmodo in engaging ways• Regularly interacts with followers to better connect with users

and enhance their Edmodo experience as much as possible

• Tweets about other organizations that seek to work with both teachers and students to improve education for everyone within in the system

• Tweets invitations to webcasts that showcase new technologies and how to use them in the classroom

Final Reflection

Overall, Twitter has been an excellent place to build my PLN. It has introduced me to many important resources and opened up lines of communication that could be extremely helpful in allowing me to share the expertise and knowledge of people from all over the educational field, keeping me informed and up to date.
