Thanksgiving(感恩节 ) 感恩节是美国和加拿大节日，是由美国首创的，原意是为了感谢印第安人，后来人们常在这一天感谢他人。感恩节是在每年 11 月的第四个星期四，在这一天起将休假两天，都要和自己的家人团聚。感恩节是美国国定假日中最地道、最美国式的节日。加拿大的感恩节则是在每年 10 月第二个星期一。 1620 年，著名的“五月花号”船满载不堪忍受英国国内宗教迫害的清教徒到达美洲。在他们饥寒交迫的时候，印第安人给这些移民送来了生活必需品，并教会他们狩猎、捕鱼和种植玉米、南瓜等生存方法。在印第安人的帮助下，他们习惯了在当地的生存方式。在欢庆丰收的日子，他们邀请印第安人一同感谢上天的赐予。感恩节的食物除火鸡外，还有红莓苔果子酱、甜山芋、玉蜀黍、 南瓜饼、沙拉自己烘烤的面包及各种蔬菜和水果等。
