36. The Dream Team – To be completely frank, I'm NOT a big fan of networking. From my experience, organized networking meetings tend to be a complete waste of time and money, primarily because everyone is coming to “GET” business instead of “GIVE” business. Can you relate? Exactly!

Furthermore, networking tends to be a 1-to-1 lead generation tactic. This means you're only generating one lead (or meeting one person) at a time. As a general rule of thumb, if you want to leverage your time you should avoid 1-to-1 lead generation like the plague. Instead, you should be focusing your time on 1-to-many lead generation tactics and if need be, do your follow-up on a 1-to-1 basis.

The trick to getting more quality referrals through networking is to only network with businesses who have a high likelihood of sending you lots of referrals. What a novel concept, huh? In other words, you need to surround yourself with a "Dream Team" of professionals who cater to refi and/or purchase clients.

You would start off by handpicking a select group of referral partners (one person per category) and then launch and lead your own networking group. I know this doesn’t exactly sound like an “autopilot” referral system but once you get the ball rolling you’ll have an army of promoters out there sending you referrals like crazy… on autopilot!

As you can imagine, there are a lot of moving parts to creating, managing and monetizing your own “Dream Team” networking group. That’s why this entire module will be dedicated towards providing you with the A-to-Z blueprint for success. You’ll have all the templates you need for recruiting members, finding an appropriate venue, getting people to show up to the meetings, leading the meetings, maximizing referrals and much more!

As you can see, just about every referral system I’ve taught you in this 4-module series has the power to explode your referrals and your income. But here is the BIG idea: It doesn’t matter how effective these referral strategies are if you don’t actually implement them. That’s why I’ve gone through the painstaking process of creating all the ready-made templates, scripts and tools for you. If you use them there is no way you can fail!
