What you need for DAY 11:• Fire extinguishers charged, mounted and

labeled.

• Defective fire extinguishers replaced.

• Employees trained in operating fire extinguishers when required.

Fire extinguishers must be charged, mounted and labeled in their assigned location.

As proof of good functioning, each fire extinguisher needs to have a card with the recharge and current monthly inspection dates.

What you need for DAY 12:

• Storage shelving constructed to prevent slipping or collapse

• Storage areas free of tripping & fire hazards

• Safe method to stock and unstock shelves

• Clear passageways and doorways for forklift, trucks, carts, hoists, etc.

• Storing materials, tools, equipment, requires more than just room or space.

• Storage areas must be strong enough to hold the load.

What you need for DAY 13:• Only trained and authorized employees

operating forklifts• Properly functioning forklifts at the

beginning of the shift• Forklift load chart attached• Forklift controls labeled and functioning• Rules of the road enforced.

Forklifts are specialized vehicles that must be operated by trained and experienced workers. Otherwise unexpected disasters happen.

For a safe operation, forklifts need to be inspected at the beginning of every shift.

specific machines• Personal protective equipment used as

required by the machine operation• Moving parts (belts, pulleys, gears,

cutters, etc.) safeguarded• Power shut-off at easy reach of operator• Lockout-tagout procedures in place

What you need for DAY 15:• Train employees on the safe use of a

specific tool• Safeguards and safety devices in place

and working properly• Hand power tools grounded or double-

insulated• Personal protective equipment used as

required for operating a specific tool

• Portable tools come in a variety of shapes and technologies

• They also serve many different purposes

• Employees need to be trained on the proper, safe use of their tool, like wearing PPE and safe work practices.

• Following the tool manufacturer safety operation guidelines is the first step before pressing the switch to “on.”

• For example, do not remove safeguards or other safety devices.
