- Perform a VFR navigation flight of at least 300 NM, of which full stop landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodrome of departure shall be made. - Check your student notes for predetermined routes to be used. - An instructor might join the flight under the conditions stated in TM B.4. In this case the hours should be noted as SPIC. In case the lesson is not at SPIC level, it shall be repeated. - In case already flown this lesson may be skipped after written approval of the Dutch CAA. By examiner (at least 1:30 hour)

Student Name PIC VFR

SPIC VFR

XC VFR

Objective

The phase 3 night flying syllabus shall be completed before attending this skill test. The route to be flown shall be chosen by the FE and the destination shall be a controlled aerodrome. The applicant shall be responsible for the flight planning and shall ensure that all equipment and documentation for the execution of the flight are on board. The duration of the flight shall be at least 90 minutes. The theoretical knowledge shall be examined verbally by the examiner during the skill test to determine whether or not a satisfactory level of knowledge has been achieved. Furthermore the applicant shall demonstrate the ability to: (a) Operate the aircraft within its limitations. (b) Complete all manoeuvre with smoothness and accuracy. (c) Exercise good judgment and airmanship. (d) Apply aeronautical knowledge; and (e) Maintain control of the aircraft at all times in such a manner that the successful outcome of a procedure

or manoeuvre is never seriously in doubt. The following limits shall apply, corrected to make allowance for turbulent conditions and the handling qualities and performance of the aircraft used: Height Speed - normal flight: +/-100’ - take-off and approach: +/- 5 kts - tracking on radio aids: +/- 5° - all other flight regimes: +/- 10 kts Heading in normal flight: : +/- 10° Refer to EU Part FCL subpart D, appendix 4 for more information about the conduct of the test.
