Christmas roast beastIngredients• 5-7 lb. rib roast• 1 cup butter, softened• 7 cloves garlic, minced• 2 TBS fresh rosemary,

finely chopped

• 2 TBS fresh thyme, finely chopped

• 2 TBS salt• 1 TBS pepper

1. Preheat oven to 500°F2. Mix together the butter, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper in a bowl until evenly combined.3. Rub the herb butter all over the rib roast, then place on a roasting tray with a rack.4. Bake for 5 minutes per pound of meat — so a 5 lb. roast would bake for 25 minutes and a 7 lb. roast

would bake for 35 minutes.5. Turn off the heat and let the rib roast sit in the oven for 2 hours, making sure you do not open the oven

door or else the residual heat will escape.6. Once the 2 hours are up, remove the roast from the pan and ENJOY!

Why Outdoor HeatingThere is a common concern when customers invest in their outdoor living spaces, es-pecially in colder climates. The space has limited use in the colder months. As your cus-tomers consider outdoor living ideas, be sure to explore options and solutions for out-door heaters that can help them extend the use of their outdoor living area year round.

The most common options that we are all familiar with are the free-standing "mush-room shaped" outdoor heaters. These heaters have limited heating ability at best. They are big, cumbersome, and hard to move around. They are usually powered by a 20 lb propane tank, which always seem to need filling right when you want to use the heater.

A more versatile option you may offer your customers for their outdoor space is Infrared Heat, powered by gas or electric. These units heat more efficiently and have far more aesthetically pleasing mounting options. They can be flush mounted in a flat ceiling like a recessed light. They can be surface mounted overhead, or on a wall, or they could be pole mounted and made to look to be a part of the overall design. With just a flip of a switch you will turn your summer patio into an entertainment space that can be used in spring, fall, and even mild days during the winter.

This category is seeing an unbelievable triple-digit percentage increases from 2016 to 2017. We expect even bigger growth from 2017 into 2018. Empire offers Bromic Heat-ing as a gas infrared option and, both Bromic Heating and Infratech Heating as an elec-tric infrared heating option.

Holiday schedule

It’s hard to believe the 2017 Holiday Season is approaching. We hope everyone has enjoyed the year and takes the time to enjoy the com-pany of family and friends during this time of the year. Below is Empire’s Holiday Schedule through the end of 2017.

ChristmasEmpire will be closed Monday, December 25th to celebrate the Christmas Holiday.

Year-end inventoryEmpire will be completing year-end inventory the last week of December. We will not be shipping Tuesday, December 26th - Friday, De-cember 29th. The last day of shipping for the year will be December 22nd. Please plan your shipments accordingly. We will be fully staffed this week for assisting with questions.

New Year’s DayEmpire will be closed Monday, January 1st for New Year’s Day. We will resume normal busi-ness January 2nd.
