WARNING!
Today, you are about to enter the
communication models(maybe a little bit hard sometimes!).
Fasten your seatbelt and get ready to focus
your attention …

Surely, you’ve already learn the use of
model, but what is model anyway?

Model
Model adalahrepresentasi
suatu
fenomena, baiknyata ataupunabstrak, dengan menonjolkan
unsur-unsurterpenting
fenomena tsb

Apa itu model?
Modelmerupakan
suatu bentukgambaranuntuk
mempermudahkita
memahami
fenomena

Model Komunikasi
adalah replika -Kebanyakan sebagai
model diagramatik daridunia nyata.

Model Komunikasi
digunakanmengidentifikasi unsur-unsur komunikasi dan
bagaimana unsur-unsurtersebut berhubungan

Model S - R
Model S-R Stimulus - Respon adalah model komunikasiyang paling dasar
S R
menjadi tersipu malu (R)

Stimulus-Response Theory
Stimulus: Hot pans
Response: Remove hands

Peter Parker mengucapkan “Hi… how are you?”
dan dibalas oleh Mary Jane “Hi fine. Thanks. How about you?”
Tukul “Peppy… elo bego banget.. Kok ini ga dikerjain”
Peppy: “Eh Tukul siapa elo nyuruh-nyuruh gue.. Kok, elo
sewot gitu, Memang gue bawahan elo apa?”
Positif - Positif
Negatif - Negatif
8/8/2019 Model Communication 4
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/model-communication-4 12/54
Pada model ini, komunikasi dianggap statis ,
tidak dinamis. Manusia dianggap berperilaku
(berespon) berdasarkan stimulus semata ,
tidak berdasarkan kehendak, keinginan serta
kemauan berdasarkan konsep diri.
Pada kasus negatif-negatif, sebenarnya manusia bisa
berespon lain: “Peppy…loe bego banget..

Setting
Setting
Fokus dari model ini adalah
Komunikasi retoris, yang kini lebih
dikenal dengan Public Speaking.
8/8/2019 Model Communication 4
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/model-communication-4 14/54
logika (logos),emosi (pathos),etika/kredibilitas (ethos).
- Khalayak merupakan kunci dari persuasi yang efektif

Pada model ini “setting”: dimana
aristoteles menyadari bahwa pendengar
harus diarahkan “disetting” oleh isi pidato
dan komunikatornya ke dalam suatu
keadaan emosi tertentu.Kelemahan : bersifat statis, satu arah,
tidak ada feedback

• Effective public speakers must consider their audience.
• Effective public speakers utilize a number of proofs in
their presentations.

tahun 1948. Model ini banyak diterapkan untuk
proses Komunikasi Massa. Pada model ini tercantum
komponen-komponen dalam proses komunikasi.

What’s in the headline?
8/8/2019 Model Communication 4
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/model-communication-4 22/54
Harold LasswellLaswell mengemukakan tiga fungsi
komunikasi,yaitu:
1)Pengawasan lingkungan/
Surveillance
As a reminder/warning for societyof threats & opportunity from the
environment
8/8/2019 Model Communication 4
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/model-communication-4 23/54

masyarakat.
(pendidik, penceramah, jurnalis)
3) Transmisi warisan sosial dari
satu generasi ke generasi lainnya.
(anggota keluarga,
pendidik sekolah)

Correlation,
- Menerjemahkan makna peristiwa & informasi

membaca, anggota kelompok, etc.

• Jika wilayah irisan semakin besar, maka komunikasi
lebih mudah dilakukan, atau lebih efektif.

Communication is a process, means that it
takes time to develop, it is ongoing, andsometimes we could not see when it willend.

S = Source
M = MessageC = Channel
R = Receiver

rangsangan khalayaknya
