DAy 1 CASABLANCA Welcome to Casablanca, a warm and stylish city with a mix of different cultures. Join a Local Guide for sightseeing including the Hassan II Mosque before getting to know your fellow Gutsy Women travelers and Travel Director over a Welcome Dinner with wine. DAy 2 CASABLANCA – RABAT – MEKNES – FEZ (2 NiGHTS)After breakfast, board a private motor coach to enjoy visits to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and Meknes, founded in the 9th Century, where you’ll see the impressive Bab el-Mansour gateway before arriving in the colorful city of Fez. A truly special experience awaits as you check-in to a Riad, a former palace built for nobles, where you can relax in opulent surroundings and pamper yourself with an included spa treatment. DAy 3 FEZ Join a local guide this morning, after breakfast, and wind your way through a medina, a car-free district made up of narrow and maze-like streets. Afterwards visit the Royal Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure to shop or enjoy the facilities at the Riad. This evening get a taste of Moroccan life at a special ‘Gutsy Encounters’ experience where you meet a local family and share a meal with them in their house. Meals: Breakfast and Gutsy Encounter Dinner

DAy 4 FEZ – ERFOUD Today drive south along the old caravan trail and stop in Midelt, a market town, set high in the plains situated between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of this former French administrative post, particularly the European-style buildings in the former French quarter. Continue along the palm-fringed Ziz Valley famous for its dates, to the Tafilalt oasis on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Your final stop is Erfoud, a popular destination for filmmakers because of the dramatic views of the Sahara Desert. The Mummy and Prince of Persia are two of the movies filmed near Erfoud. DAy 5 ERFOUD – OUARZAZATE Today learn the true meaning of oasis as you visit Tafilalt, a beautiful example which is about 20 miles long. Then enjoy spectacular scenery as you travel through the Todra Gorge to Ouarzazate. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Hotel: Le Berbere Palace

DAy 6 OUARZAZATE – MARRAKESH (2 NiGHTS)After an orientation tour of Ouarzazate, travel via Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh, known as the “Red City,” because of its pink/red walls. Like many other cities in Morocco, it is a former imperial city comprising of both an old fortified city (the medina) and an adjacent modern city. It has the largest traditional Berber market known as a ‘souk’ in Morocco which houses one of the busiest squares in the world that’s bustling with acrobats, story-tellers, dancers and musicians. By night food stalls open in the square turning it into a huge, busy, open-air restaurant! Meal: Breakfast Hotel: Atlas Medina Spa

DAy 7 MARRAKESH Join a Local Guide and experience what a truly special city this is. See the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th Century and intended to be the greatest palace of its time. Visit Djemaa el Fna Square the medina quarter (old city) where there are palm readers and market stalls, and then enjoy free time to shop in the bazaar or find a restaurant to try a local dish like ‘tagine’ (slow cooked stew) for lunch. Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

DAy 8 MARRAKESH – CASABLANCA After additional free time in Marrakesh for last minute shopping, return to Casablanca via Settat, a city 370m above sea level and built on a plateau surrounded by foothills which made it easier to defend. Then return to Casablanca and enjoy a Farewell Dinner in a typical Moroccan restaurant. Reminisce about the wonderful sights and sounds that you experienced over the last week, and plan your next Gutsy Women trip with your new friends.
