What do I need to set up Mobility ExpressTo configure the IP credentials for the virtual wireless LAN controller before setup you will need to determine the following bull IP addressbull Subnet maskbull Gateway

bull The Mobility Express access point will get an IP address from the DHCP server bull This is the IP address of the access point and NOT the virtual wireless LAN controller bull You will have to manually configure the IP address of the virtual wireless LAN controller during setup bull Also both the access point and virtual wireless LAN controller MUST be on the same network

Where do I find out this informationTypically the internet router broadband modem or switch runs the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server

Exclude at least one IP address from the DHCP scope which will be statically assigned to the virtual wireless LAN controller during setup

Step 1

Physical setup1 Power up the Mobility Express

access point

2 Use a standard Ethernet cable and connect the LAN port of your broadband modem or router directly to the Ethernet port marked ldquoPOErdquo on the access point

3 Wait for the LED on the access point to be ldquochirpingrdquo green (it may take several minutes)

4 Connect your laptop smartphone or tablet to the SSID CiscoAirProvision using the key lsquopasswordrsquo
