MOBILE CHARGING DEVICE FOR
ELECTRONICS

Back Story Imagine that you are in a meeting on the
phone and your phone dies with no way to charge it or continue your meeting.
Initial Problem Statement 3 Words:
ScavengingEnergyCharge
Problem StatementToday’s batteries die after prolonged use
without a way to quickly charge them on the spot.
Revised Problem Statement Charging personal electronic mobile
devices is inefficient and hard to accomplish without direct access to a power outlet.
Design a product that will harness energy in nature and process that power into a charging system

Where We Are Going A clip system that can be clipped onto
almost any material and can harness kinetic motion energy.

GlovePower Clip
Power Glove Takes the movement of fingers to rotate
electromagnet creating current. Current harnessed to charge battery. Charge pad in the palm to wireless
charge mobile device.
Power Suit The material of the suit is a piezoelectric
system designed to harness all movement of the body to a central power location.
Currently not feasible.
Power Clip Modular design to minimize weight. Central unit designed to process power
to a battery and then to mobile device. Most feasible.

Charge Mobile Device
•From the survey we have given, we have discovered that the product must have the following requirements, and the nice to haves would come later.
Solution Justification and Product Specifications
Decision Matrix
Math and Science Concepts PE=KE, so KE=mgh for potential
vertical motion Using the walking motion, a magnet
can be accelerated up and down changing mechanical to electrical energy (V=I x R (Voltage=Current x Resistance))
The energy can then be stored in a battery for later use.
Summary Key Requirement: Charge Mobile
