Mobile Application for Forest Department

AbstractForest department holds the responsibility of conservation and development of state’s forest which has spread in approximately 61,939 Sq Km of forest area, which is above 20% of total geo-graphical area of the state.

Successive Software developed the Offense Man-agement System for Forest department to track and control any offense committed within the juris-diction of Forest department using an Android ap-plication. The Application has an extensive use of Google Map API and Android GPS to report the data pertaining to any offense from distant loca-tions to the organization centers.

The ClientForest department holds the responsibility of con-servation and development of state’s forest which has spread in approximately 61,939 Sq Km of forest area, which is above 20% of total geographical area of the state.

The State has 6 National Parks and 36 Wildlife Sanctuaries with a total of 15,732 sq km area, amounting to 5.02% of the State’s geographical area.

Forest department has been facing several challenges with offenses occurring within their jurisdiction. The officials within the organization are provided with android based mobile de-vices to monitor the location of all officials and create contin-uous connectivity.

Successive Software provided a detailed application with exten-sive usage of Google Map API, 2G/3G connectivity and Android GPS system. The application enabled the officials to send and share information over the internet with the offense and offender details to the remote server of Forest department The data accu-mulated on the server can be accordingly structured as per inter-nal policies of Forest department to create a refined repository.

Successive Software worked towards creating a user friendly mobile application that could transmit data from official’s device in the form of text and picture. The applica-tion was enabled with the capability to record all data facts even in an offline mode where location coordinates were stored in the application itself. This information is recorded from the GPS updates from the satellite and can then be shared with the remote server in case of network connectivity.
