Sri Ramakrishna Mission 4th January 2019

A new school building was inaugurated in collaboration with other donors on 4th January

2019 at Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama School in Anugul district of Odisha. The School provides

Hostel Facility along with Education till Std X to the current strength of 330 female

students from the tribal areas of Odisha.

Dr. Sanjeeb Patjoshi, Jt. Secretary to Govt. Of India, Ministry of Panchayati Raj was the

Chief Guest. Mr Rajanikanta Biswal & Jayanta Sinha, Vice President, Sales and Marketing

attended the program on behalf of MMF & Finolex Industries.

Career Guidance Session, Masar

Career guidance session was conducted on 4th January and 10th January 2019 at MMP

Samplawala High School and Shree Sagar Vidhyalaya respectively. The speakers Mr.

Kiran Vijayan (HR Manager-FIL Masar) and Mr. Tanaji Kakade (GM HR– FIL Ratnangiri)

spoke to students from the 10th and 12th standard appraising them future prospects for

higher education. A total of 263 students benefitted from both these schools.

Kites Distribution to schools in Pune, Masar and Ratnagiri

To mark the festival of Makar Sankranti and Uttarayan kites were distributed to schools

whom we have been supporting on 11th and 12th January 2019. Children were happy about

this gesture and enjoyed this activity.

Book Release ‘Ways of Water’, Pune12th January 2019

Finolex and Mukul Madhav Foundation are

proud to announce that they have been

recognized to be patrons of the book authored

by Mr. Rafique Sayed, ‘Ways of Water’. The

proceeds from this book will be given to FIL and

MMF. This book was released in the presence of Padmabhushan Dr. S B Majumdar and Mr.

Rafique Sayed, internationally acclaimed portrait photographer. This event was hosted by

the management of the Symbiosis School of Photography at Lavale.

Performance by Hearing Impaired Kids, Pune 13th January 2019

225 students from the network of Cochlea Pune performed at the Balgandarwa in a musical

event. FIL / MMF has been sponsoring Cochlea Implant Surgery for some of these

participants. It was a joy to see their improvement! In addition to this FIL / MMF sponsored

this event by providing refreshments for the children.

Awards

17 MMV students participated and received accolades in the Rangbahar State level

competition for Arts. This is the 5th consecutive year of receiving this award. Mr. Rushikesh

Shelar was awarded with the Dronacharya award for his excellence in imparting arts

education to the students.

Success Story – Dr. Arunima Sinha

Keeping India's flag held high, Dr. Arunima

Sinha after scaling Mt. Everest in 2013, has

yet again brought laurels to the nation by

becoming world's first woman amputee to

climb the highest peak of Antarctica,

Mount Vinson. Standing in solidarity with

her Finolex Industries alongside CSR

partner Mukul Madhav Foundation

extended their support to turn her dream

into a reality. We salute her indomitable

spirit and unwavering perseverance and

wish her success in all her future conquers.

in Maharashtra state founded in 1971 with

Education, and Social Welfare & Goa states.

areas of Health, Education, Social Welfare,

Toilets and Water Conservation.

Tarachand Sahani and Shri. Bhagwan Sahani

educationists from Sindh, Pakistan migrated in

1948 and set up Anglo Urdu school and

subsequently shifted to its present location.

1. 17th and 18th January 2019 - All India Radio, Ratnagiri is celebrating their foundation day

where FIL / MMF have been invited.

2. 14th to 18th January 2019 Health Camp 2019 at Ratnagiri will be our 20th bi-annual

camp since 2008. 21 doctors from renowned hospitals of Pune accompany MMF team

to screen approximately 6000 children in 11 schools.

3. 15th January to 4th March 2019 – Participation in Kumbh Mela

All India Radio, Ratnagiri 17th and 18th January 2019

The All India Radio Station, Ratnagiri observed 43rd Foundation Day on 17th and 18th Jan 2019 where Finolex Industries and Mukul Madhav Foundation sponsored the event. Wide publicity was provided to the CSR activities in their channels.

Health Camp 2019, Ratnagiri14th to 18th January 2019

Free health camp was conducted at ZP and private schools at Ratnagiri between 14th and 18th January 2019. This is our 20th bi-annual camp since 2008. 21 doctors from renowned hospitals of Pune accompanied MMF team and screened 2525 students in 11 schools.

Participation in Kumbh Mela15th January to 4th March 2019

We engaged with women from Ratnagiri and Masar who were trained at FIL/MMF Skill

Development Classes successfully made ‘Finolex’ bags for Kumbh Mela. This was a new

initiative and a first step towards entrepreneurship for the women who previously used their

skill for personal purposes. This gave them an opportunity to exhibit their skill and earn an extra

income for their family.

Electrical Safety Week, Ratnagiri16th January 2018

In line with the commitment of creating awareness about electrical safety and in celebration of Electrical Safety Week, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya organised a session on 16th January 2019, for the students in the age group of 12 to 15 years. Mr. Yogesh Khandekar, Assistant Manager, Electrical department, Finolex Industries, educated children about the different safety practices to consider while using electrical appliances. The session concluded with a short animated video to summarize key learning points with regard to electrical safety.

Makar Sankranti Celebrations, Ratnagiri16th January 2019

Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya celebrated Makarsankranti by flying kites. Students and teachers

were dressed in traditional attire.

Monthly Diabetic Camp at KEM Hospital, Pune 19th January 2019

Total 27 patients were provided insulin and 9 patients underwent routine lab testing.

Yuva Daud – Marathon, Pune20th January – 2019

Kreeda Bharti organsied YUVA DAUD (Marathon), where FIL / MMF sponsored the event and

also encouraged employees to participate. The flag off was done by MMF representative

along with Mr. Anil Shirole - Member of Parliament and Vice chancellor - Pune university. The

prizes to the winners across categories were given by Mr. Dhanorkar, Independent Director FIL

and Mr. B. R. Mehta, Vice president FIL

Award 20th January – 2019

The Endoscopy Division of Sassoon General Hospital and Mukul

Madhav Foundation were selected for Rotary Sinsan Health Care

Excellence Award under the professional category of Doctors. Finolex

Industries Limited and Mukul Madhav Foundation set up the Endoscopy

unit in March 2019. As on date 1164 patients have availed the services at

an affordable cost of Rs. 1100/- as compared to other hospitals where

Annual Concert at Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya, Ratnagiri22nd to 24th January 2019

Annual concert programmes were held at Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya from 22nd January to 25th

January 2019. The students showcased their talents which was appreciated and applauded by

the audience.

the charges are upto Rs. 2 lac. Recently the PEOM procedure, (to cut the food pipe to remove

Achalasia cardia disorder) under the hands of Dr. Nachiket and his team. SGH and B J Medical

college is the first medical college in Maharashtra to perform the same.By providing these

high end facilities available to common man FIL and MMF continues to upgrade uplift

hospitals.

and Mr. Ketan Desai (FIL Employee) spoke to

173 students of 10th standard in the field of

Armed Forces and Science respectively at

MMP Samplawala High.

Spell Bee Competition, Masar22nd January 2019

To improve phonetics and vocabulary among students Spell Bee was competition conducted

at Gametha Primary School. Children from 4 schools participated with great enthusiasm

and zeal.

Surgery, Pune22nd January 2019

Master Vedant Gaikwad was supported for Cochlea Implant

Surgery. The surgery has been completed and is successful.

Track Suit Distribution, Mahabaleshwar24th January 2019

196 track suits were distributed to students form ZP school at Mahabaleshwar. FIL/ MMF has

been supporting this school over the past years with educational utilities and also sponsors

teachers in these schools. An emphasis is made in English language and the teachers receive

special training for the same.

Republic Day Celebration at MMV, Ratnagiri 26th January 2019

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Mukul Madhav

Vidyalaya on 26th January 2019. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by prize distribution

to the students for their performance in sports.
