s“The XF continues to offer a compelling blend of style, performance and refinement, and the changes effected from MY14.5 – as these updates are known internally – it remains a car which will appeal to those who are used to the finer things in life,” commented

Nigel Clarke, Operations Director of JLR SSA.

“For these people, their time is one of the most important commodities and with Extended Navigation they can use time even more efficiently by getting straight to where they

want to go, with minimal delay thanks to exceptional intuitiveness and usability, not to mention an impressive array of features.”

As well as Extended Navigation, the MY14.5 introduces additional convenience features; including Rear Park Aid for Luxury derivatives, and Reverse Park Camera for Premium Luxury derivatives. All 3.0-litre diesel

and 3.0-litre petrol models boast a rear spoiler as standard.

This rear spoiler will be offered as an option on the 2.2-litre diesel and

2.0-litre petrol models, while a full aerodynamic – which adds a revised front bumper, black grille with chrome surround, body-coloured rear valance and ‘R’ Style side sills – is also available. The Black Pack – available as a standalone or in addition to the Aero pack – adds further gravitas thanks to the gloss black side window surrounds, black grille/grille surround and black bootlid garnish.

As far as the interiors are concerned, Premium Luxury models can be enhanced with the Sport Pack; comprising heated and cooled electrically-adjustable (with a dual-position memory for the driver) sports seats in soft grain leather, bright stainless steel pedals, and Jet Morzine treatment for the headlining and the roof pillars. A number of sound system and interior veneers are also available as

well as a television tuner.

The MY14.5 XF range comprises eight models, with a choice of four engines – two turbodiesels (2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre V6), a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with 177kW, as well as the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 with 250kW and 450Nm. The flagship of the range is the V8-engined XFR-S (405kW), offering a blend of

exceptional performance along with superb dynamic ability. The 375 kW XFR remains available.

“The XF range has been the Jaguar brand’s mainstay for a number of years and with this latest round of changes will continue to do so. Extended Navigation is especially significant in the sub-Saharan markets, where it will give us a unique selling proposition,” concluded Clarke.

Mummy, why do we need to have table manners?

Because, eating together with family or friends is a special

moment, you dont want to spoil it for others with unpleasant/ bad

manners or abnormal eating habits ....

Eating together at a business meeting, family get together or with friends requires one to be tactfull and show best regards to those around who want to enjoy your company, the moments of being together and to appreciate the food; if you belch, make eating sounds, toss your hand

across to pick a dish or talk with your mouth full is bad manners...table manners are skills that

are acquired - so acquire them ...

New FACE of facebook or it’s new p r o f e s s i o n Leading social media company Facebook wants to read SMSes and other confidential information of people on the Android mobile phone platform, cyber security firm Kaspersky said today.“Over the last few days there has been a constant scrutiny over Facebook having access to your SMS. Buried within the latest update for Facebook’s Android app is a feature that is causing growing concern among some users,” Kaspersky said in a statement today. No immediate comments were received from Facebook.Facebook is one of the companies that has been accused by US Whistleblower Edward Snowden of sneaking in to private information to help National Security Agency of US in spying at global level. The social media firm has denied that allegation. The Facebook application at the time of installation on Android mobile phones seeks certain permissions and the updated version now asks users to allow it “Read your text messages (SMS or MMS)”.The social media’s logic behind seeking access to SMS is that “if you add a phone

number to your account, this allows us to confirm your phone number automatically by finding the confirmation code that we send via text message”.The updated Facebook application now wants to “Read calendar events plus confidential information” which it justifies as it is required to allow “the app to show your calendar availability (based on your phone¿s calendar) when you¿re viewing an event on Facebook”.Facebook sends code via SMS that has to be entered when a user registers with the social media website which in a way helps the company verify the authenticity of users twice.“Two-factor authentication provides an extra level of security, so it’s good to see Facebook providing this option ... As a final note, we’d urge people to carefully check the permissions requested by any app when you first install it,” Kaspersky Lab’s Principal Security Researcher David Emm said.Kaspersky added the permissions also grants access to multimedia messages, for which reason is not explicitly given. It expressed apprehension on the word ‘automatic’ used in the permission sought by Facebook.“...the key, it seems to lie in the word ‘automatically’. Surely the app doesn’t need to do this automatically.

Facebook could simply prompt me to type in the code manually. Or, at the very least, provide this option,” Kaspersky said.It added that this may be an innocent feature “but in the light of growing

concerns about online privacy, such an option would help to allay people’s fears”.Facebook is reported to have 93 million users in India out of which 75 million access it from their mobile phone as of December 2013.The permissions sought by Facebook are apart from similar permissions sought by Google’s Android platform in the name of Facebook. The social media company on its website said: “Keep in mind that Android controls the way the permissions are named, and the way they’re named doesn’t necessarily reflect the way the Facebook app uses them. We realise that some of these permissions sound scary, so we’d like to provide more info about how we use them.”On the issue of permission sought by Android to access information and edit feature in user’s phone, Google has earlier said, “Its an app which you (user) have choice of installing.”Facebook - with more than 1.2 billion users worldwide - is celebrating its 10th birthday amidst challenges of keeping its original base of young users with new innovative social networks coming to the fore. The company was launched by Mark Zuckerberg on February 4, 2004, from Harvard University.

It was a bright day to arrive in an African Kingdom and to be greeted by the en-ergy of the JLR SA test Drive team – Swaziland it is…

The test drive of the Jaguar XF range comprised of eight models, with a choice of four engines – two turbodiesels (2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre V6), a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with 177kW, as well as the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 with 250kW and 450Nm.

The use of Close Networks in Marketing is firmly established in many countries as a respected means of achieving an income.

You can choose to use Close Networks in marketing to reach your customer base and any product or service can be sold this way. Network Marketing started in the USA. As with any business, there are no guarantees of success and rational preliminary research is essential.

Most firms use Network Marketing to expand their distributor base. Some use institutional networks, and others are purely person-to-person, others use a mix of all of these to sell their products.

Close Networks marketing is based on the concept of ‘networking.’ We all have a circle of people we know through the circumstances of our daily lives and each of these people will have their own circle of acquaintances, colleagues, family and friends.

Close Networks marketing involves tapping into these networks not only to sell product but also to offer the business opportunity to potential new distributors

who then start the process of developing their own networks for selling and recruiting.

As the networks widen, so the individual leader benefits not only from their own sales but also a percentage of the sales from their network. As more people join the network, so residual income increases.

As with any other home-based business, distributors need to work hard and have courage and determination. Finding a good sponsor is just as important as finding an interesting product and a good compensation plan, which offers flexibility and just reward for effort.

Network Marketing is particularly suited to married women with family commitments as it offers them an opportunity to start a business on a part time basis with very little capital. The opportunity now exists for enterprising women to use their talents and the skills gained from motherhood to build businesses based both on selling and on finding and supporting the efforts of others. Network marketing businesses close

down every year - but still more product-based businesses are turning to network marketing as a means of getting their products out to their customers and cutting out the wholesalers and retailers. A lot will depend on you, but a lot will also depend on the business acumen, personalities and perhaps sheer luck of the people you are signing up to do business with.

What would be a better perspective? Signing someone up to join a Network Marketing company, or forming your own distribution company and becoming CEO of it, and then selecting a vehicle and products to market through it?

Perspective needs to be that you are an entrepreneur, and have chosen to form a business in the industry of distribution, and you are going to put together a team of like-minded folks that will work together to build a business that can offer customers, quality products and services at a fair price.

Focus. Successful entrepreneurs have the ability to focus their attention on important projects and see them through.

Think! Successful businesspeople do not fall apart when faced with crises. They take a moment and think about their situation.

See the opportunities. Opportunities are everywhere. They really are. It is just that most people cannot see them. But you must. Most of us expect opportunity to beacon to us with flashers and sirens, but that isn’t how it normally works.

Develop good work habits and attitudes. There are far more people who can start a business than there are who can run a business and prosper over the long haul. You’ve heard the statistics - most small businesses fail.

Do not let criticism crush you. Everyone is an expert on your problems. Realize that you are probably the best person to evaluation your own problems. Listen and give consideration to the inputs you receive, but remember, you’re the person who will rise or fall on your decisions, policies, and habits.

Do not overcharge. Customers are quick to recognize value and quick to go elsewhere if they feel they are being overcharged. You’re goal should be to make them customers for the long term.

Never forgetwhy you are doing this. Sometimes, we lose sight of what we are working for.

Be willing to take calculated risks. Evaluate the benefits of doing something and compare it to the benefits of not doing it.

Start even when you don’t have complete information. You will never know everything you wished you knew before undertaking anything.

Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Most of us are not good at everything we try to do. Learn what you’re good at and let others do the rest.

Do not be afraid to make mistakes. You will learn more from your mistakes than you do from your successes. Try not to keep making the same mistakes over and over.

Persist. It has been said a thousand times and a thousand ways... persistence pays.

Keep pushing, even in good items. Just because you got a nice contract or had a good week is no reason to sit back and relax. Business is an up and down affair: you can have a good week followed by three not-so-good weeks. It’s okay to pray for a crop, but meanwhile, keep on ploughing.

Serena Hotel - Baker’s Basket....Baker’s Basket – Your Break time place @ Serena Hotel

A place with a top rank when it comes to networking, meeting and just casual times with friends and colleagues…The Serena Hotel has an extremely cool

character around its baker’s basket, a café that is taking the lead in bringing back to Dar es Salaam the culture of socializing at a café – as is enjoyed by many in other countries – while in Kenya and Uganga Café’s are everywhere, that serve excellent

beverages and bites – some having European themes and some making the ambience that is post colonial African, mixing traditional brews and bites with

more western cakes and cookies, while some offer ample reading

materials and others show sports channels and entertain with light live music…The Baker’s Basket is one such café becoming popular day by day and giving you a full time city living feel with the calmness that is subtly busy and ambient, serving every one’s comfort levels. While Some of the cafes miss the services that they ought to have, such as coffee or cake, and some have some welcome extras, such as

things to read and sofas to lounge about on and strangely, some café’s don’t serve coffees and cakes at allAt Baker’s basket you can catch up on your laptop activities, meet a friend or have a short meeting or simply enjoy the various coffees and cakes that are freshly baked or dish upon a sandwich roll or share an ice cream or eat the fruit meals – it is all there in front of you The friendly staff who are ever eager to serve remind you of service standards that are only associated with five star hotels, these staff are ever cheerful and relaxed – giving you a healthy antidote to what you may experience at other ‘outlets’. The area inside and outside where by you can enjoy the treats from the baker’s basket is always filled with a cosmopolitan crowd, and the successfully created a pleasant atmosphere is highly due to the fact that the furniture used is very comfortable and relaxing, should we say just Five star!!!!...While you may say that going to a café’s is not your cup of cake, then you can order your birthday , anniversary or any other event cakes or buy a variety of breads and biscuits for takeaway from the baker’s basket, with all it’s bakes priced reasonably well for any one to afford – At Baker’s basket you will get a Black or White forest – just the way it should taste – and for those who are wondering which ‘msitu’ is being referred here, then make a note – A black or white forest cake is a celebration cake which has a must ingredient of black or white chocolate, cherries, fruits and a stylish combination of cream, cake, syrup or liqueur – placed or poured one on top of another in a sandwich style to give you that incredible pleasure of a celebration….

g.Weekly . July issue No. 1-2 . 2014

Here is how you can do it...

Starting at home has many advantages. When you start a business, like any venture in life, you want it to have the best chance for success. Starting one from your home has unique advantages.

You won’t be paying rent on a store or office. And probably you won’t immediately need a separate phone with the charges for installation and monthly service. And you are already heating and lighting your home. Therefore, you avoid the burden of these additional monthly overhead costs.

You will be using many things you already own so you can save money by not buying a desk, lighting fixtures, a water cooler, or the other furnishings people generally buy to set up a separate business location.

If you need help with the actual work that’s involved, try to get members of your family to help you. And you can start your business part-time while keeping your present job. Later as it grows you can make it your full-time occupation, and if you wish, move it out of your home into larger quarters...better suited to a business, which may be growing by leaps and bounds.

A man’s home is his castle - and it can also be his “gold mine.” There are many

people who make a very good living right from their home. It is comfortable, it is conveniently located and you can dress the way you like.

Working in your home has other advantages; you have no transportation expenses and you don’t waste time or energy in crowds or rush hour traffic.

But there are some drawbacks to working at home and the largest of these is self-discipline. Plan you time will. You must learn to discipline yourself.

Set up a definite work areaIt should be a spot that is comfortable but away from distractions. Your children deserve attention but not during your working hours. So set yourself up far from where the kids usually play.

Too close to the kitchen isn’t wise because you are too close to the “food or drink” temptation. A quiet spare bedroom can be ideal as can a finished basement or garage if they aren’t too hot or cold.

You must realize that there will be some complications to running a business from home and one of those complications is when a fairly small child answers the phone for a business call. “No, this isn’t the Smith Company, this is my house” may throw a business associate calling your “office” for a loop, temporarily. Plan and ensure you have number that only rings

in your work area.

Plan for temporary help. There may be more work at times than you and your family can do yourselves. Your volume of business may be greater on certain days of the week, certain times of the month, certain seasons of the year. At those times you may need extra help to handle the work.

The right business for you: When selecting a home business you should consider these factors:

- Is the service or product you intend to provide already easily available in your area? If it is not available and if there appears to be a need for it, these factors are in your favour.

- Is it a business that suits your personality and tastes? One that you feel good about, that fires your imagination?

You must, of course, choose the home business that is right for you.
