What is Mobile Money?

• A Money Transfer Service that enables Mobile phone users to send cash

to any other Mobile phone user anywhere in Uganda

• Mobile Money has become a game-changer on the payments scene

replacing traditional methods of money transfer

• Mobile Money plays a significant role in the economy. Transactions

involve money that is primarily outside the banking system and has

little effect on the banking sector in general today

• In terms of access - for both merchants and consumers - the mobile

platform offers significant low costs and unrivalled convenience
