#BETHEONE MESSAGE FROM …..MRS. LARSEN
We are excited to publish our own Literary Magazine, The Dreamers Digest. This magazine provides opportunities for our students to publish their writing for others to read - like true authors! Students can submit work for publication to their classroom teacher based around the topics of each issue. We hope this magazine will get our students excited about writing! I hope you will take the time to read the entire Dreamers Digest with your child and show your excitement about our student work. Kindness is about love and sharing. I can show love as doing a favor to a friend. I can share my glue stick with a friend. That is what kind-ness is.

One sunny afternoon I just came from school and it was snowing! Then I told
my sisters and they ran up the stairs as fast as they can. So we all put on
our hats, mittens, scarfs, boots and our coats. As soon as they finished
they ran downstairs so fast one of them almost fell! But in a while we got
bored, so then we went next door to see if we can play. They said yes.
Then we asked my mom if we could take a family walk with our friend's fam-
ily too. And they all said yes. So we took a walk but it was very long. Then
we all found the most beautiful place in the world. So we all decided not to
tell anyone at all. Also it was a beautiful river and so many evergreens.
Then we started to relax. But after a while we went home but before my
friend went home I asked her parents if she can have a slumber party at my
house. They said yes so we had the best sleep over ever! We had hot
chocolate, candy, and we watched a very scary movie. Then we went to
sleep.

It was a snowy night Joe and Jolly were sisters and brothers. They were
discovering if mansions are real. So when they were walking, Jolly stopped
too. They saw… a big mansion right in front of their eyes. Next, they
knocked the door but, no answer, so they knocked again. Then slowly the
door opened. Then they saw people having fun. And they, Joe and Joly
joined in. After all that fun they had they were tired. But they decided to
play for a couple minutes then they went home and had another adventure.

A winter evening is different than a summer evening but they can be the
same too. A summer evening and winter evening gets colder at night. A win-
ter evening might snow because winter is already cold. In summer you can
wear flipflops, shorts, short sleeve shires and you can go to the beach and
drink a cold glass of lemonade. In the winter you
would wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots so you
would stay inside of your house with the heater on.
Sometimes you would drink a warm drink and food.
They both have fun things to do like in the winter you
can play in the snow. In summer you play in the sand
at the beach. Summer and winter have things in com-
mon and they also have things that are different too.

One time I went to Canada on winter to see my cousins. It was already snowing when we got there. Then the next day everyone except my mom went to the park to play in the snow. We got the sled and slid down the hill and had fun. Then we were building a snowman. When the snowman was done my dad ran and everyone chased him. When we were chasing my dad we knocked out the snowman. Then we had a snowball fight. After we did that we did some more sledding. Then we played fris-bee. Last, before we went home, we made some snow angels. Then we went back to our cousin’s house and had a warm drink. That was a fun winter!

One winter evening my, my sisters and dad went outside to play with the snow. But my dad wasn't’ playing wit the snow. He was recording us on his phone. And also me and my sisters played snowball tag. We made it up. So basically you take s snow-ball and if they hit you with the snowball you’re it. Easy. We also made snow angels. My bib sister made a big snow angel because she is big. I made a medium snow angel because I’m big but not as big to made a big one. My little sister made a small one because she is small. Then we went inside and drank some hot cocoa. And then me and my sisters went to bed. And that’s how my evening ended.

It was a glowing night. It`s getting more and more frosty day by day. Days pass it`s almost Christmas. We go the café to drink coffee and eat delicious biscuits. Outside the houses are icicles that are really cold. All the trees were bare with lots and lots of snow. The cold breeze just makes me think be in a blanket just eating some popcorn and watching some movies with my family.

One day in 1999 in New York, an author named Veronica Gale was just about to write her new chapter book: Night Owls. It was about high school detectives named: Adrienne, Shannon, and Jennifer. Veronica went to the café, when she went outside it was freezing and saw bare trees too. The glowing lights lit up and she saw frost and icy icicles. And so, she went into the café to start typing. So her new story could be bought online. When she went to the café, she ordered a double late with extra cream, and since it was Christmas she ordered a gingerbread man and a Christmas tree cookie. What Veronica was writing in her book, the “Night Owls” were about to go to the ware-house where the Glazers were at. The glazers were about to jump out from behind boxes… and Ve-ronica was tired so she went back Home AND... fell asleep.

One day as I was walking to the café. I saw the trees were bare. It was snowing in
the city. The Christmas lights were glowing as the I was walking in the snow. The
cars were covered with frost . It was freezing when I was going home. I almost
slipped and fell!
Midnight Snow

One day a boy named Brian was in class. Brian did not know it was snowing out-
side. Brian walked outside, he thought it was so cold that he thought he was so
cold that he was going to freeze, but Brian did not freeze. Brian ran under the
icy, glowing lights. Brian ran to a nice warm café. The café’ was nice and warm
and Brian got a nice warm coffee. When Brian left it was past midnight. Brian was
tired. Brian planned to go to bed right when he got home. The trees were bare.

Winter
Winter has lots of snow. The temperature is dropping lower than 32 degrees.
Playing outside in the chilly now, making a snowman. So cold you need hot coco
with a doughnut to keep me warm. Lots of holiday decorations all over the place.
So many animals hibernating. Frosty snow at your porch, sometimes on your
roof. Perception falling form the sky. The end.
By Alex Lozano Nieto
Winter is a wonderful time of the year. You celebrate Christmas,
sometimes it snows. And when it is chilly, you sit by a warm and cozy
fire. The best part is when you go outside. You do snow fights and
build a snowman.

THE SNOW MIRACLE
One morning I woke up and it was snowing. It was my first time seeing snow I didn't know what to do, so I put on my clothes on and hurried out-side to play. I went down the hill with my sled, made some snow balls and created a snowball fight. I made a snowman, and a snow angel. When I was done with my snow angel my dad called me inside to have some hot chocolate. When I came back out the snow angel was gone not like a bike rand over it no it was completely gone. The snow was the same as it was before I made even made the snow angel, I looked around to see if I had made it somewhere else but I knew I had made it there, I just made anoth-er snow angel and kept playing until I had to go inside I tuck a shower and went to bed.
The next morning it was Christmas when I woke up, I went to my mom
and dad's room and woke them up, when they finally woke up we went to
the living room were the Christmas tree was and opened the presents. My
last present was really big! When I opened it, it was a big stuffed animal.
In the shape of my snow angel! It was as big as my actual one. It was so
pretty but how?

DIARY OF AN ELF
I live at the North Pole. I am an elf but I'm the kind that bakes. I usually bake cookies for Santa Claus. Mrs. Claus helps with baking the cakes and cupcakes. All of the elves that were on present-making duty would stop by the kitchen to get some cookies and ice cold milk. When Santa was checking the naughty and nice list for the second time I would send head elf to check on Santa because sometimes Santa gets a little stressed. One year I sent Bernard, the head elf, to Santas office with a plate of sugar cookies. When I went to ask Santa if he liked the cookies, his reply was " I never received any cookies!" I was surprised. When I went to find Bernard, he looked very guilty. I asked him if he ate the cookies and he nodded his head very shamefully. That was the end of that. Anyway, I get up very early in the morning because I need to make breakfast for Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. My two elf best friends are Sydney and Bella. Bella is a baker and Sydney is a toy maker. Did you know Santa has a cat named Magic? Magic is an orange tabby cat. Well, it's time for me to make lunch. Bye!!!

Book Review by Jason Waddell
When I was deciding on a book to review on, I thought I was going to review
on a small book. It was going to be a kind picture book. But then I remembered a
book about how it does not matter how you look. I remembered a book by the mind,
the great mind of R.J. Palacio, Winder. This book is one of the best books I’ve read
by FAR! One part that was phenomenal was the fact how we got to see the story
from other people’s angles.
August Pullman, the main character of the story has a disorder that made his
face unique. He hasn’t gone to school and his parents are deciding whether he
should, or not. Auggie meets new people along the way, some willing to accept how
he looks, and some not.
I think that it’s very peculiar that people want to make fun of someone be-
cause of their looks! Well, we should always have good words to say, and if you
don’t , don’t say anything. Auggie makes some friends along the way, and it’s very
interesting. Now lets talk about some of the books side characters and see the
kindness they have.
The first side character I’ll talk about will be Olivia Pullman (Via is her nick-
name.) Via is the caring, strict type of sister. She always stands up for Auggie and
is a good sister all around. Jack is August’s best friend. He’ll always be there for
him, no matter what! Though some things do happen. Summer is also one of Aug-
gie’s best friends. She was the first one who wasn’t “hired” by the principal Kush-
man to actually confront and greet him. Summer is amazingly nice to August.
Well, that’s it for my report on Wonder. If I had to rate it, I would rate it a 5 out
of 5. If I was forced to reread any book, it would be this. I can’t wait to see the
movie!
