Advertising PPC
Challenge: Test new channels outside of paid search always
keeping a positive ROAS.
Solution: Launch with Facebook in US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
Used remarketing, similar audience targeting , and interest targeting.
Results: Since March our Facebook campaigns average a 575%
return on ad spend. August drove a 998% return on ad spend.
Retargeting alone has a 20x ROAS.
Conversion Rate Optimization
Challenge: Improve conversion rate to make most
of advertising spend
Solution: Test two very different landing pages.
Results: 2nd version produced a 29% conversion
rate for desktop while the other performed better
on Mobile.
Mobile Conversion Rate: 16% CR vs. 6%
Desktop Conversion Rate: 29% CR vs. 17%
Search Engine Optimization
Challenge: Boost visibility of local online newspaper.
Solution: Implement proper “block and tackle” tactics like adding a site map as
well as provided a list of keywords their articles should focus on. Because this
was a newspaper for a specific town also implemented local SEO tactics.
Results: 0 – 5.5+ unique users a month in 6 months which is 18% of the
Richmond’s population.
Echo Marketing
Challenge: Improve conversion rate and drive down cost per downloads.
Solution: Match ad message with landing page message, testing which
messaging works best, to constantly improve cost per download.
Results: Average cost per download by end of four months was $43. In
the last month our cost per download was 23% below average at $33.
