She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, winning the prestigious Gold Medal competition, and at the National Opera Studio. She is continuing her studies with Janice Chapman. Natasha was awarded the Glyndebourne on Tour Promise Award in 2006 and won the John Christie Award in 2009. Natasha’s major operatic roles have included the title role in Rusalka, Musetta La Boheme and Donna Anna Don Giovanni for Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Donna Anna for Garsington Opera, Birmingham Opera Company and Birgitta Festival in Tallinn, Micaela Carmen for Royal Danish Opera and GTO, her US debut as Kumadha in John Adams’ A Flowering Tree at Chicago Opera Theatre, Emma Khovanshchina for WNO, First Wood Nymph Rusalka at the Glyndebourne Festival (where she also made her debut as Fiordiligi Cosi fan Tutte and covered Mélisande Pelléas et Mélisande, Cleopatra Giulio Cesare, Alice Ford Falstaff and the title roles in Rusalka and Rodelinda) and for Opera North, for whom she has also sung Ilia Idomeneo, First Lady The Magic Flute and Elisetta The Secret Marriage, the title role in Alcina for English Touring Opera, Rosalinde Die Fledermaus for the Wexford Festival, Tamiri Il Re Pastore for Garsington Opera, Angelica Orlando and Romilda Xerxes for Opera Theatre Company and Tatiana Eugene Onegin for Stanley Hall Opera. Natasha has also sung in Il Tempo del Postino at the Manchester International Festival, Bernadette in the world premiere of Andrew Schultz’s Going into Shadows at the Guildhall, Nella Gianni Schicchi for the William Walton foundation in Ischia. Recent oratorio highlights have included Bach’s Mass in B-Minor and Haydn’s Creation at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, the St. Matthew Passion in Chelmsford Cathedral, Handel’s Samson, Acis and Galatea and Messiah at Arundel Cathedral, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and the Waterfront Hall in Belfast (Ulster Orchestra), Carmina Burana for the RPO, Pergolesi’s Missa Romana with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Fauré Requiem and Dvorak Requiem for Goldsmith’s Choral Union. Current projects include Micaela Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall.

Natasha Jouhl
