We offer the following consultancy services
in any combination:-
Civil and Structural Engineering
Highways and Traffic Engineering
Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering
Drainage and Infrastructure Design and Detailing

Architecture by FJ Architects
CDM Planning Supervision
Unlike many consultants we retain the ability to design and
detail complex steel and concrete frames where appropriate.
We use three dimensional software for the design and
analysis of steel and concrete structures which links directly
to our drafting package, Revit Structure, to produce three
dimensional CAD models within a BIM environment.

Design Philosophy
MJM Consulting Engineers have established a deserved
reputation for high quality service, rapid production of
information and practical, cost effective and innovative design
solutions. Our aim is always to be a vital and effective member
of the development team.
We have extensive experience of difficult and contaminated
‘brownfield’ sites where in many cases our advice has been
crucial in establishing the viability of projects. We regularly
advise clients before site acquisition on the development risks
and abnormals associated with these sites.

Food Store Project Profiles
26
Hermiston Retail Park
Redevelopment of an existing retail park comprising
construction of a new 75,000 sq ft Morrisons food store and
100,000sq ft of non food retail space to complement the
retained 40,000sq ft of retail space. A requirement of the
contract was for the retail park to be accessible to the public
during the works which required detailed phasing to maximise
the number of car parking spaces available whilst maintaining
a safe environment for construction workers and customers.

Tesco Superstore
This project involved the construction of a new Tesco
Superstore on a previously developed site. The available
area on the site was such that the superstore was designed
on “stilts” to allow customer parking beneath. The store
elevation design resulted after liaison with the local authority
and other interested parties to produce an iconic building for
this gateway site. The curved features and extensive planar
glazing provided a challenge to the engineer to ensure that
the building maintained its desirable architectural form.

ASDA Retail Superstore
At approximately 180,000 sqft this is one of the largest Asda
WalMart supercentres in Europe. Opened in 2002 in time for
the Commonwealth Games the site is an important gateway
into a deprived area of Manchester which was regenerated by
the adjacent Commonwealth Games stadium and Velodrome.
The site had a chequered history of previous industrial use
and required extensive remediation and earthworks.
