MYTHOGRAMS
BY DEFINITIONAbstract figurative representations of animals, which coexist with geometrically diverse signs, work as the support of oral traditions that speak of the relation between man and its environment. They served as mnemonic symbols to remember mythical family stories, created to achieve the unity of the group.*
BY EXTENSIONGraphic images which recall the mythical history of a town or a lineage, based on oral tales which give them support and that images help to remember. They serve to keep families or groups united, due to the belief of descending from one and only ancestor.
BY APPROPRIATIONA set of images coming from our most remote past which evoke real or mythical stories that were left with no voice. Retrieved icons that we hope will talk to us again.
