To ensure the safe operation of cranes it is necessary that the qualified crane operator have training, knowledge and has demonstrated a satisfactory skill level. Only qualified crane operators shall operate any crane. The MIT Institute’s Crane Operator Training Course is designed to increase crane operators’ knowledge, skill and proficiency level through classroom and hands-on training. Participants can achieve qualified operator status by successfully completing written and practical examinations. Upon completing this Crane Operator Training, Participants should be able to: Operate the crane safely and productively. Set up the crane correctly. Make and interpret a basic and complex lift plan. Use rated capacity indicators and load charts. Communicate appropriately with the hand Signals. Understand the proper rigging techniques. Who Should Attend Current crane operators who have been trained by “field practices”, but not yet exposed to the formal side of crane operations.
