User Experience Design (B.Des/ M.Des)

The Product Design Programme makes the learners to understand the various approaches, processes and systems to address human needs by creating tangible products. In the various courses that the learners pursue, the emphasis is on learning-by-doing and following a comprehensive process of designing, producing and marketing products, systems and services.

The learners of Transportation Design explore an inborn human need of human mobility. It is not only limited to Automobile Design, but to design systems, which enhance mobility for humans and commodities. Learner’s innovative ability is challenged further when the scope of a transport vehicle is extended from land, water to air and even space.

Automotive Clay Sculpting helps translate a designer’s vision into a tangible reality. Clay modelling is still commonly used by OEMS in automotive and product design industry. This is a way to pre-visualize concepts which help in decision making before taking the products further for manufacturing. MIT ID has developed this programme in close collaboration with SIAM.

Automotive Digital Sculptor prepares mathematical data or 3D model using concept anticipated by a designer. This data is needed for various downstream activities of a vehicle design & development programme. This requires ability to understand the creative design process, work with fine details, trade-off between design & engineering and work at a high level of skills in Alias® & allied software. The digital sculpting is an essential part of the creative design process and the common chord between Designers and Engineers.
