MISUSE OF BIOLOGYMISUSE OF BIOLOGY

The vast number of developments happened in various areas of biology have indeed been used for the welfare of the society. But like a nuclear device , that can be used for the welfare activities and destructive activities the science of biology also have two sides.

Some of the most common examples where developments of biology are misused are discussed following 1)Amniocentesis

2)bioweapons

It involves the withdrawal and study of amniotic fluid through a needle inserted through the abdomen into the uterus and amniotic sac.

1) AMNIOCENTESIS

It started as a diagnostic tool, people now started using if for detecting the sex of the fetus.In many cases, the parents go for abortion if the expected child is a female.

2)BIOWEAPONSBiological agents are now used for making weapons for mass destruction, Known as bioweapons. In this type of weapons the infective biological agents Mostly the microorganisms that causes serious diseases are used.
