Miguel H. Arenas was born in Curanilahue, Chile. He is the oldest son of two Methodist Pastors. He earned a

BS degree in Education and earned English as a second language teaching degree from Concepcion University, Chile. He did his first Theological studies at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chile. Miguel served for seven years in Uruguay as a missionary of the General Board of Global Ministries of the UMC. He is currently studying at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC for his Master of Divinity degree and is serving as a pastor at Stevens Emmanuel UMC [Latino Ministry] in Harrisburg, PA.

Miguel worked for the Methodist Church in Chile in various national posi-tions, such as national youth president for three years, national coordinator of music and liturgy, editor of the actual Hymnal of the Chilean church. In the ecumenical field, he was the executive secretary of the Student Chris-tian Movement in Chile, and a member of the liturgical network of the Latin American Council of Churches.

As a missionary, he served at Crandon School in Salto, Uruguay as an English teacher of a second language and chaplain of the school. Then he served as a pastor in San Lucas Methodist Church in Paysandú, and Central Methodist Church in Montevideo. He was the founder and coordinator of the “Renacer Methodist Camp”, a national recreational and retreat center of the Methodist Church in Uruguay.

Miguel is actually serving at the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church, as a missionary-pastor in a bilingual Methodist Church, in the Allison Hill neighborhood in Harrisburg, PA. As the poorest area in the city, it has a high percentage of immigrants from diverse countries, making pastoring a multi-ethnic challenge. He splits his time between his pastor-ing duties in Harrisburg, and his studies at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.

Lauren was a senior in college when she felt God’s call on her life to full time ministry. After graduating from the University of Alabama she moved to Lexington, Kentucky where she served as a semester missionary with the Univer-sity of Kentucky’s Baptist Campus Ministries. It was there that her heart for ministering to young women began to develop. After moving back to Tuscaloosa in May of 2009, God opened a door for Lauren to serve on full-time staff at YFC. She is now the director of our Teen Moms ministry where she works with over 80 young mothers in four high school campuses in the Tuscaloosa area.

Mike and his wife, Laura have served Tuscaloosa Youth For Christ for 18 years. Their role is leadership of 3 fulltime

and 3 part-time ministry staff that reach over 1,700 teenag-ers each year with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Through innovative programming and loving relationships Youth For Christ aims to reach un-churched high school and middle school students in the ministries of Campus Life and Teen Moms. The ministry has recently been blessed with a 6,000 sq. ft. Teen Center on McFarland Blvd. Through this new outreach tool the ministry intends to pioneer new programs and reach over 2,000 youth in 2013. Mike and Laura have two grown children, Brittany and Ross.

In 1989, Shajan met Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal Savior. Shajan was the first person in his remote village to get saved. Soon after his salvation he started to

share his joy with the people in his village, but he was met with only negative responses. People mocked him and separated

themselves from him. In 1992, Shajan went to seminary and got his Bachelors Degree in Theology. In 1993, Shajan started his first church in his own village. With only three believers and much prayer, God started bringing more people to the church. Many of the new believers were called by God for missions so they were given training and sent out to other villages. The continued growth of this ministry led to the formation of EMFI, the Evangelical Mission for India, led by Shajan & Dede.

“The Hands of Christ” is a medical ministry that reaches out to the poor in Honduras. They work in the capital of Tegucigalpa where more than 1,000,000 people call it home. More than 80% are consider poor. They averaged more than 10,000 patients a

year for the six years they have been working in Honduras, and more than 1000 of those

prayed to accept Christ. They usually work 3-4 days a week giving medical care and another day preparing the medicine and supplies. They feel God has placed it on their hearts to build a large women’s clinic. In the beginning, their focus will be pregnant women and their needs with this ex-pansion, as well as other areas as growth continues. They have 8 ½ acres of land on which to build and are plan-ning to start building soon. To read more about their growing ministry, go to www.thehandsofchrist.org.

The Chastains have been serving in Russia and East-ern Europe for more than 10 years. After years of direct service with orphans and street children, their primary call has shifted towards the support of local pastors and Christian workers in ministry. Specifi-cally, Miki is developing a healing prayer ministry and prayer center through which those working in Christian ministry may come to have a retreat from their work and receive rest, renewal, healing and reconciliation to God. Charlie is developing a creative arts ministry that provides an outlet for followers of Christ to express their praises to Him using their own talents, culture, and voices.
