Because of your support we are able to provide approximately 40,000 prepared meals and an additional 2000 boxes of groceries each year through our Food Box program. As important as it is for you to know these numbers, it is much more important that you realize these thousands of meals and food boxes are served to one person or family at a time. The people who come to us for food, come as individuals, they are given the meals or food boxes as individuals. They may sit in a room filled with people or enter our dining area along with others, but each and every one of them is an individual and needs to know that the God who created them has a plan for their lives. He has compassion for them and wants them to know Him in a personal way. In meeting physical needs, we are able to tell them of our wonderful Savior who can meet their spiritual needs. That is because Piedmont Rescue Mission is more than a place to get physical needs met, we are a gospel mission and, as such, we believe that only in the salvation that Christ offers can a hungry soul really be filled. We care about the folks that come here and we open our hearts and hands with the hope that God will reveal Himself through our testimonies of His grace. There are couples who have come our way trying to feed their babies and the husband is the sole wage earner and some- times money is tight. These families often supplement their meager food budget with a food box from the mission. I am thinking of a middle aged lady whose husband is terminally ill; she is the sole provider in her household, with a minimum wage job, yet she never complains, though the medical fees and other expenses are so great. She is working hard, but some- times she just can't make the ends meet. The food box provides them with essential groceries while she takes care of her husband and pays the bills. I think about the men in our resident program whose lives have been changed through the Gospel of Christ and are living now drug and alcohol free. Perhaps, you have heard one of their testimonies on the radio or read one in our newsletter. All of this is a testimony that God is really at work here at the mission and He is using you as you give. When I walk the halls of Piedmont Rescue Mission, it’s a great joy to see many of our staff members who were once in need themselves and are now touching the lives of the needy. I know that Piedmont Rescue Mission is a special place. I know it because in every thing we do we try to honor and proclaim Christ. That's the difference! When we say we are a Christian ministry we mean it and it shows in all we do and I believe God honors that commitment. A couple of things before I close, please pray that the City of Burlington Inspections Office will approve our plans for the Family Shelter so that we can begin work. Second, don’t forget to reserve your seat at the Greater Vision Banquet on October 24. It is going to be a great banquet. Our keynote speaker this year is Daniel Ritchie who was born without arms and has been used of God across America as a testimony of God's grace and the importance of every life. Come prepared to be blessed and encouraged. I know this is going to be a great banquet. Thank you for your continued support which makes it all possible. Bro. Tony Honeycutt Phil 4:13

October 2019 Piedmont Rescue Mission

Dear Friend of the Mission,

We thank you for the support you give to Piedmont Rescue Mission. Because of your support we are able to provide

approximately 40,000 prepared meals and an additional 2000 boxes of groceries each year through our Food Box program.

As important as it is for you to know these numbers, it is much more important that you realize these thousands of meals

and food boxes are served to one person or family at a time. The people who come to us for food, come as individuals, they

are given the meals or food boxes as individuals. They may sit in a room filled with people or enter our dining area along

with others, but each and every one of them is an individual and needs to know that the God who created them has a plan

for their lives. He has compassion for them and wants them to know Him in a personal way.

In meeting physical needs, we are able to tell them of our wonderful Savior who can meet their spiritual needs. That is

because Piedmont Rescue Mission is more than a place to get physical needs met, we are a gospel mission and, as such, we

believe that only in the salvation that Christ offers can a hungry soul really be filled. We care about the folks that come here

and we open our hearts and hands with the hope that God will reveal Himself through our testimonies of His grace.

There are couples who have come our way trying to feed their babies and the husband is the sole wage earner and some-

times money is tight. These families often supplement their meager food budget with a food box from the mission. I am

thinking of a middle aged lady whose husband is terminally ill; she is the sole provider in her household, with a minimum

wage job, yet she never complains, though the medical fees and other expenses are so great. She is working hard, but some-

times she just can't make the ends meet. The food box provides them with essential groceries while she takes care of her

husband and pays the bills.

I think about the men in our resident program whose lives have been changed through the Gospel of Christ and are living

now drug and alcohol free. Perhaps, you have heard one of their testimonies on the radio or read one in our newsletter.

All of this is a testimony that God is really at work here at the mission and He is using you as you give. When I walk the

halls of Piedmont Rescue Mission, it’s a great joy to see many of our staff members who were once in need themselves and

are now touching the lives of the needy. I know that Piedmont Rescue Mission is a special place. I know it because in every

thing we do we try to honor and proclaim Christ. That's the difference! When we say we are a Christian ministry we mean it

and it shows in all we do and I believe God honors that commitment.

A couple of things before I close, please pray that the City of Burlington Inspections Office will approve our plans for the

Family Shelter so that we can begin work. Second, don’t forget to reserve your seat at the Greater Vision Banquet on

October 24. It is going to be a great banquet. Our keynote speaker this year is Daniel Ritchie who was born without arms

and has been used of God across America as a testimony of God's grace and the importance of every life. Come prepared to

be blessed and encouraged. I know this is going to be a great banquet.

Thank you for your continued support which makes it all possible.

Up coming Events

Please remember we are collecting coats, gloves, scarves, toys

and bicycles to give out at the Christmas meal. It is not too

early to start collecting these items to help us out this year. If

you want to bring them by the mission give us a call to make

sure someone is here to receive them from you.

Thank you so much for your help!

Pastor Tony and Piedmont Rescue Mission,

My words cannot express what the Piedmont Rescue Mission mean

to Donna Baker, but I will try to express how Donna felt.

Donna loved her work at PRM. She volunteered for over 20 years.

Donna did many different things at the mission. She thoroughly

enjoyed wrapping presents for Christmas for the men at the mission .

She would always give me books to read and give her an idea of

where they would go in the library.

Donna is finally at peace with no pain. She is at home with her Lord

and Savior dancing in the streets of glory. She will be missed, but

whenever you have a moment of regret, re-

member that Donna is smiling down at you

from heaven and she is healed.

Can I ever replace Donna Baker? No, she

was one in a million. I will just have to

remember that one day I will be joining her

too in heaven. For now I need to be calm

and carry on.

In Christ’s Love

Dave Baker
