Mish and Mush: Pesach Seder Book and Corresponding Haggadah
By Mrs. Shani Diamond
Grade Level: Early Childhood Description: This item includes the book, Mish and Mush: What Comes Next? A Story about the Pesach Seder, and templates for creating a corresponding preschool Haggadah. The book features delightful characters who walk you through the Seder by informing you of what comes next and by providing a brief synopsis of each step of the Seder. The text is accompanied by brightly colored pictures which illustrate the Simanei Haseder (and as an added bonus, help students keep track of the Daled Kosos!). The accompanying Haggadah template features wording which is very similar to that of the book and provides space for students to illustrate with photographs of themselves, drawings or crafts. What to download
Download the print-ready PDF file (includes lesson plan/instructions). Goals/Objectives: Students will become familiar with the events which will take place at the Pesach Seder, the sequence in which they occur and what they are called by reading the book, Mish and Mush: What Comes Next? A Story about the Pesach Seder. They will review what they have learned by creating their own Haggados which they will use as a reference at their own Sedarim. Materials Needed:
Color printer
Glossy cardstock (paper of your choice)
Coil binding
Craft materials of your choice Instructions:
1. Print the book onto glossy cardstock. 2. Bind. 3. Read the book to your students on a regular basis between Purim and Pesach. 4. Discuss. 5. Have students decorate the corresponding Haggadah using the craft materials of your
choice. Closure Assessment: Have students look through their Haggados and tell you what is taking place on each page. Variations: Print the book as a classroom big-book as opposed to 6.30”x6.30”.
