EMC INSURANCE DIVIDEND The Association sponsored property and casualty insurance program, through Employer’s Mutual Casualty Company (EMC), will pay an

Insurance Dividend of

15.87% These dividends are based on earned premium, not annualized premium. They cover the policy year of September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016. Dividend checks can be picked up at the EMC Booth in the Exhibit Hall at the Annual Convention. Those that are not picked up will be mailed out after the Convention.

B-10 MANDATE

Reminder regarding the sale of B-10 in Minnesota. On April 30, 2014 Governor Mark Dayton signed a bill that modified the biodiesel mandate chapter 239.77. The following should help you un-derstand the changes and what actions you will need to take to sell biodiesel at retail… On April 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017, considered warm months, the biodiesel content

must be at least 10% biodiesel fuel by volume going forward. During the cold weather months, October 1 through March 31, the biodiesel mandate reverts

back to at least 5% biodiesel fuel by volume. On April 1, 2018 through September 30, 2018 the biodiesel mandate moves to 20% biodiesel

fuel by volume. #2 Biodiesel Exemptions include... Motors located at an electric generating plant regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Railroad locomotives. Off-road taconite and copper mining equipment and machinery.

Off-road logging equipment and machinery.

Vessels of the United States Coast Guard and vessels subject to inspection under United States Code, title 46, section 3301.

Generators tested and validated by an entity that designs and manufactures the generators for use in jurisdictions where biodiesel use is not required.

The exemptions listed above do not have a sunset date.

Number 1 diesel fuel is exempt year round until May 21, 2020.

The Federal Trade Commission sticker (see label) is required at the point-of-sale on all retail die-sel fuel pumps.

ANNUAL CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW

The 2017 Annual Convention and Trade Show is less than a month away. Join Min-nesota Petroleum Marketers Association and the Petroleum Marketers and Conven-ience Stores of Iowa in Saint Paul at the Saint Paul RiverCentre and the InterConti-nental Saint Paul Riverfront Hotel. The Committee has once again put together a great lineup of workshops dealing with current issues that affect your business every-day or will be affecting your business in the near future. That makes this year’s agen-da and keynotes more important than ever. The Upper Midwest Convenience Store and Energy Convention will run March 27-29, 2017….that is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The trade show floor is open Tues-day and Wednesday and is once again sold out. Badges are required at all events Even just one good idea that you take away from this event can make an improve-ment in your business and for your customers. The Trade Show and Workshops offer you a chance to look at and talk about every piece of equipment or service you may need in your business. We have printed highlights and schedules in this issue of the newsletter. Mary Mack- Folk Humorist Mary Mack performs her sometimes-musical comedy at festivals, colleges, clubs, casinos and anywhere you can find a llama or a buffet line. She has acted in cartoons, weird student films, and commercials that urge you to buy food for your hamster. (Mary is totally FOR feeding your hamster.) A favorite on radio shows and podcasts around the country, including Marc Maron's WTF Podcast, The Bob and Tom Show, and American Public Media's WITS, Mary played the leading character Dylan on Fox's new late night cartoon Golan the Insatiable, season one. Her voice has also been heard in the cult favorite Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Mack’s comedy (spotted with occasional mandolin or clarinet outbursts) has been seen in the Vancouver Comedy Fest, The Andy Kaufman Awards, Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, and the San Francisco Sketch Fest as one of "The Dozen" up and coming headliners designated by the festival. She had her national TV debut on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and NBC's Last Comic Standing.
