18th IMPORT GOODS FAIR (IGF) IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA JUNE 2020

18th edition of Import Goods Fair (IGF) - 2020 is to be held in June 2020 at Hall C3-4, COEX, Seoul, Korea. It is hosted by the Korean Importers Association with the support of South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), as well as many foreign embassies in Korea.

The EDB with the assistance of Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul, South Korea making arrangements to organize Sri Lanka Pavilion at the 18th IGF-2020.

The IGF main attention is on both visitors and buyers of Korea, since it stands as the one and only exhibition with foreign-made product display. The 2019 show had been successfully conveyed by the above organizers with the participation of 200 foreign companies from 08 countries. More than 15,000 visitors had been attracted including 10,000 genuine buyers 70 percent of whom were importers. Participants could meet Korean importers, distributors of department stores and retailers including e-businesses.

FOR WHOMExporters/ potential exporters of the sectors below are invited to apply.

Food and Agriculture products- Ceylon Tea, Coconut products, Food preparations, Confectioneries, Sea food, Essential oils and concentrates etc.

Rubber products such as rubber gloves & vulcanized rubber and components to the auto industry,

Apparel including sportswear.

Other potential products would also be considered.

EDB ASSISTANCE & COST OF PARTICIPATIONThe cost of the booth and other related costs such as Hotel accommodation, freight and clearance of the exhibits, any tax and duties applicable in the clearance of the exhibits will have to be borne by the participants. The EDB will contribute towards the branding, publicity & promotion of the country and consider 50% reimbursement of stall cost subject to the availability of funds.

APPLICATION PROCEDUREApplications should be made on the prescribed form available at the Market Development Division (8th Floor), EDB or could be downloaded from the website www.srilankabusiness.com under the section “Announcement”. Duly completed application form should be sent to the Director/ Market Development, EDB on or before Thursday 13th February 2020. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by a selection panel comprising the representatives of relevant government organizations.
