Steps Toward Developing a Discipleship Ministry in Your Church Pray Ask God to bless the ministry in a powerful way. Ask Him to give you the wisdom to make decisions that will help meet the needs of your members. Enlist a Person to Serve as Discipleship Ministry Director This should be a spiritually maturing person who has a vision to see persons transformed into the likeness of Christ. He or she should also be outstanding in working with people and be a good manager of the church's resources. A Discipleship Team should be enlisted to work with the Director. This team could consist of such persons as the Pastor, Minister of Education, Minister of Youth, and some or all of the age-group Discipleship leaders. Determine Your Discipleship Offerings This can be determined by (1) knowing needs of your members, and (2) by conducting a survey of your members. Enlist Your Leadership Seek to enlist persons who are maturing spiritually and who have a passion for the area in which you are asking them to lead.
