So long, farewell...bright days ahead…I joined the MAC fresh out of college after moving back to Milwaukee and starting my first job at the old M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank downtown. Senior bankers at M&I, like Vic Kearney, gave me one simple piece of advice: Join the MAC. And so I did. About a year into my tenure as a member at the MAC our former GM approached me about serving on the membership and house committees to learn more about the Club, recruit new members and help brainstorm strategies on how to reinvigorate Club life.

14 years later, I served two years on the house committee, five years on the membership committee and am now wrapping up three consecutive terms (9 years) as a Board Director and an awesome five-and-one-half years as your Club’s President. While formally volunteering on behalf of the Club has run its course, my commitment to the Club’s success has never been stronger.

I am often asked why I care so much and do so much for the Club. Even after being asked these questions so many times, I haven’t brewed up a great answer. The best I offer is this: Milwaukee is our home, and as residents and ‘users’ of the city, we shouldn’t always seek ways that Milwaukee can help make us more successful. Rather, we owe it to one another to act as stewards in an effort to make Milwaukee a world-class home, neighborhood and destination for others.

As a 139-year-old institution, the MAC is a part of the very fabric of our city and its history. We owe it to one another to take care of it, to nurture it and to find ways to grow the MAC and help it flourish. As my time serving as the Club’s President comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on the journey we’ve traveled to get where we are today in 2021. This includes the national and international events that helped shape our state of affairs, the members that contributed their time, talents and treasure to assist the Club, the staff and management, both past and present, that worked tirelessly to make our individual experiences at the Club special.

While the journey was rocky and not every day was filled with joy, I fondly look back on these 14 years, and more so the past 9 years with gratitude. I am grateful to have been given the chance to be a part of something great with wonderful people. I am grateful for the experiences – highs and lows – and for all of the people who care so much about the MAC’s success they’d volunteer their time and expertise without asking what they get in return.

The journey was epic! In just a few months we will see the fruits of a decade’s worth of work and sacrifice come to fruition. Our home at 758 N Broadway will gloriously reopen with unthinkable, world-class amenities and services. In seeing this historic project through to success, we will have made our city a lot brighter, and we will provide a best-in-class home for future generations of MAC members. Now more than ever I couldn’t be more proud to be a MAC member, and I am humbled and thankful for everyone’s loyalty, dedication and stewardship to the Club and the city of Milwaukee, our home.So long, farewell…there are bright days ahead!

God bless,A. David KrieteMAC Club President

MAY/JUNE 2021

What do you do for a living?

I founded and run an online and in-person training

company for special education teachers, parents and

schools. My focus is to build better special education plans

to prepare students for the real world. I have a brother

with down syndrome, and watching the school system as

a special needs sibling inspired me to become a Special

Education classroom teacher. I hoped to fix the system

from the inside, but I ran into a lot of “nos” and red tape.

I wanted to get more “yeses,” so I moved into my current

role to be able to offer services from outside the system.

What is a typical day like at your job?

I spend my mornings creating content and programming

for teachers and parents. I spend most of my afternoons

interacting with teachers, parents and schools both

online and in-person through mentorship programs and

workshops. I’ve been able to build a true community

internationally. We have master IEP coaches across the

country, in Canada and in the UK.

Where did you grow up and attend school?

I grew up in Illinois and attended Northern Illinois

University for my Bachelor’s and University of Illinois at

Chicago for my Master’s.

What are your hobbies?

I love to travel. One of the reasons my family came to

Milwaukee is because we’re 15 minutes away from the

airport. We also have season tickets to the Brewers and

love to go to ball games.

What is on your bucket list?

More travel! My favorite place I’ve been lately is Sedona,

which is also where I had my honeymoon. At this point I’d

be happy to go anywhere - I’m up for anything.

I joined in January.

What inspired you to join?

We moved to Milwaukee

a year ago. With all of

the shutdowns and working from home, we were feeling

isolated in the community. We wanted to find like-minded

individuals for social and business networking. The

business networking at the MAC was a huge attraction for

us. I joined a Marketing Round-table, and it has been

interesting to see other people’s perspectives on what’s

happening locally and globally and how behaviors have

changed due to the shutdown.

What is your favorite part about the MAC so far?

I love being able to walk over to the MAC and grab dinner

and a drink with my husband for an easy date night.

What are you looking forward to most about the

MAC Reimagined project?

Where do I start? We’re going to be just a 4-minute

walk from the new building. I’m looking forward to using

the new MAC several times a week for date nights with

my husband and also self-care time in a building that is

gorgeous and elegant. I’m looking forward to the

boutique feel and personalized experience. I can’t wait

for the high standards I’ll experience when I walk in that

building.

What would you like other members to know about you?

I’m always open for conversation, especially in the

world of business and education. Never be afraid to

approach me.

MAC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Where did you grow up and attend school?

I grew up in a large Catholic Family in Saint Paul and we

still talk almost every day. I went to Marquette, which

is how I came to Milwaukee. After school, I moved

back to the Twin Cities. My son, Danny, also went to

Marquette, and eventually convinced me to move back

to Milwaukee. My family visits us yearly in Milwaukee

because of the weekly activities the city offers. It is

vastly underrated city.

What do you do for a living?

I manage global pharmaceutical programs at Pfizer.

Prior to the Pandemic, I typically traveled weekly,

many times remaining on location multiple weeks. My

focus has been on data transfer and distribution of

information - ( Serialization ). FDA requirements do not

allow shipment of product until product information has

been transferred. Data Transmission includes labeling

and serialization of products, removing it from inventory,

package and ship through dosing.

In the case of COVID-19, this requirement was placed on

hold to quickly allow for manufacturing and distribution.

We are playing catch-up now on this requirement.

During my 25 years in the industry, I’ve been around

the world, visiting Italy, India, Belgium, Costa Rica, the

Dominican Republic and more. I manage data transfer

and the distribution of information for Pfizer. In the

pharmaceutical world, you can’t ship anything until the

information has been transferred. However, this hasn’t

been happening with the COVID-19 vaccine because in

this case we needed to get the vaccine out as quickly

as possible, so we are now playing catch up with data

transmission. In this case, data transmission includes

labeling and numbering the vaccine, taking it out of

inventory, packaging and shipping it. We keep track of

exactly where every does goes

until it gets into your arm. My

recent additional duties on the

COVID-19 program are manufacturing line equipment

(mechanical, electrical, machine control) upgrades

because of past pharmaceutical program upgrade

experience. My recent additional duties on the COVID-19

program are manufacturing line equipment (mechanical,

electrical, machine control) upgrades because of past

pharmaceutical program upgrade experience.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I get to wake up every morning and talk to people

of different nationalities and cultures all over

the world. It’s so interesting to have these

conversations on a daily basis.

What is the secret to your success?

Understanding that kindness works in every language.

What will members learn at your Vaccine Presentation on May 18?Members will learn the status of the vaccine in the

United States compared to globally. I’ll also talk about a

third-dose shot being needed as a booster, as changes

being made to the Pfizer vaccine to simplify

it and make it easier to deliver.

What is your favorite place you’ve traveled?

Costa Rica! My goal is to have a place there one day.

What is your favorite part about being a MAC Member?

I love getting to know everybody. I enjoy Cigar Club

and Wine Club. I’m known in the Cigar Club group

because I bring cookies from Scortino’s. I’m a people

person and I love how wherever I go to the Club, I always

see many people I know.

What is your favorite MAC memory?

The final party - the party of the century - the last night the

building on Broadway was open. The Club did such a great

job making it a phenomenal night. Everybody was there - it

was the place to be and be seen.

What are you looking forward to most about the MAC Reimagined project?Hanging out in the steam room on a Saturday or

Wednesday night. We’ll have fun talking about business,

politics, sports - the stuff that binds people.

What are your hobbies?

I try to live my life as a vacation. I’m a voracious reader

and I love to read. I also love boating. We have a 35 foot

boat on Lake Michigan. My life is built around people and

the boat and home provide for great gathering places.

My bucket list dream is to take my boat around the entire

United States - it’s a 6,000 mile journey that will take at

least 26 weeks. I also love Marquette basketball, Packers

and the Brewers!

What is a fun fact about you?

At 6’1” and 250 pounds, I’m a bigger guy. I used to

be a hockey and football player. Despite all of this,

I have run marathons!

Game-Changing Habits for Weight Management8

Remember the most important protein of the day at breakfast. Combine 20 grams or more of protein with a whole grain to avoid that late afternoon hunger. > Tip: Eggs are a fantastic choice - 20 grams are3 eggs or 6 egg whites.

Create protein and carb combinations for each meal and snack. The protein-carb combo keeps you fuller longer. > Tip: Look up some protein-carb combosknown for boosting metabolism for extra weight

management benefit.

Don’t leave home hungry. Planning to eat whatever is available puts your ability to make a health choice at risk. > Tip: Find a favorite,

healthy snack that you can keep in your bag or vehicle - it will be there to get you through in case there are no

healthy options available when hunger strikes.

Put your health first. Make yourself a priority by taking the time plan and pack

your meals. > Tip: Meal and snack prep once a week or every couple days helps in making healthy selections.

Avoid drinking your calories. Most drinks won’t fill you up, so don’t waste the calories. > Tip: Some drinks, like milk and a well-balanced shake or smoothie, are exceptions.

Optimize your workouts. Incorporate strength training to boost your metabolic rate and do cardio as interval training for the biggest return on the time you invest in exercising. > Tip: Combine cardio intervals and strength trainingwithin each workout.

Be aware of the calories you’re eating. Simple fact, managing your calories is critical for weight control. > Tip: The My Fitness Pal app is a great tool for tracking your calories.

Master the art of portioning. Learn appropriate portions sizes. Then find quick and easy ways to size your portions without having to weigh and measure your foods. > Tip: Your protein portion will typically be about the size of the palm of your hand.

Whether you are trying to maintain or drop pounds, weight management can be cumbersome - maybe even exhausting. However, I’ve found that the more simple habits (some might even call them tricks) we incorporate into our daily routine, the easier it is to reach our goals. These eight habits top my list of small tweaks you can make to realize big results.

Packers 2021 GOLF PACKAGESEASON TICKETS

2021 PACKER SEASON

Single game sales will be priced and available in mid-May.

2020 was far from a normal Green Bay packers season. The NFL has stated their current plans are to move forward with a normal season in 2021.

Gold TICKETS available APRIL 19 THRU MAY 10From April 19 through May 10, you may purchase entire gold (Milwaukee) season tickets located in either sections 113 or

129. This includes one preseason game and two regular season games. Dates, times and opponents will be announced soon.

Included with your purchase is a full tailgate party for both of the regular season games, just steps away from Lambeau Field.

Optional for this season only is the luxury motor coach ride there and back. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the game

experience and includes beer, soda, water and morning cocktails. We won’t be restricting capacity, so it’s your decision whether

you are comfortable in an enclosed space.

Your only option during this time is the full package (one preseason plus two regular season games with a tailgate at each). If

the NFL restricts capacity, we could split games so everyone gets at least one season game.

These tickets are meant for the use of MAC members, their families, friends or clients. They are NOT for resale. Tickets will be

sent to you electronically one week prior to the game date. You may then distribute them as needed. Reselling on a secondary

market will disqualify you from any further purchases.

$450 per gold season ticket includes one preseason ticket and two regular season games with tailgate

$45 per person, per game - optional luxury motor coach for each of the two regular season games. Includes beer, soda,

water and morning cocktails. Departures are from downtown Milwaukee and the Cedarburg exit (Hwy-C) off I-43.

Payment due in full by May 10. Contact Brad at [email protected] to request tickets.
