WELCOME

We’re Milton and Amy, professional photographers and creators of finely crafted wedding photography.

What does this mean? Well anyone can point and shoot a camera, but true wedding photography requires a unique blend of skills: artistic vision, technical prowess, a strong connection with each couple we work with, and intuition that sees moments before they happen and interprets the layers of emotions that accompany such a momentous occasion. Only when all these skills combine can the story of a wedding day be told with honesty and authenticity.

We’re privileged to have these skills and we love nothing more than to put them into practice for every wedding we document; from the capture of perfectly composed images on the day, to editing and retouching, and through to the delivery of a beautiful handcrafted album.

You can discover more about our craft and our services throughout this booklet. If you love what you see and would like to check our availability for your wedding or arrange an appointment at our Bondi Beach home studio, please get in touch by emailing [email protected].

Enjoy, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

BRING ON SPRING

Spring is all about new beginnings, and for us that means the start of a brand new wedding season.

We’re super excited for all our couples who, over the next few months, will be experiencing their own new beginnings as they exchange their vows and rings. And we can’t wait to document their weddings.

This season we’re particularly excited about the growing trend for elopements and smaller, more intimate gatherings in alternative and unusual spaces. These, in combination with more traditional wedding days, have created a diverse feast of wedding goodness that we’re looking forward to tucking into.

So bring on the warm weather, long days and good times.

#WEDDINGTRENDING

It’s no surprise that spring is the most anticipated season of the year.

For many it signals a long-awaited rise in temperature and the promise of warm, sunny days and fresh blooms, while for others it means the arrival of an exciting new fashion season and cool trends to follow. Brides in particular will love spring for all the above reasons. But what exactly can they look forward to in spring/summer 2014?

To find out we asked three leading wedding experts from our Circle Of Trust to share their predictions on trends for the new season.

Make Up

• The number one trend in dresses is the illusion neckline, particularly with lace detailing. This soft, feminine look flatters so many body shapes. The “Indianna” by Anna Campbell and the ‘For Emily” by Elizabeth Dye are great examples.

• The growing popularity of relaxed, destination weddings has led to more casual, floaty gowns without structure or boning. Silk chiffons, georgettes and lace are making appearances in these gowns.

• The hottest designer right now is Australia’s Anna Campbell for her relaxed, customisable gowns, while Israel’s Mira Zwillinger is also very popular.

• Headpieces are the accessory of the moment, from tulle jewelled headpieces and crystal combs to boho flower crowns.

• Our tip for warm weather weddings is to keep cool with an unstructured, floatier gown or to opt for a silk lining if possible.

• This spring we’re expecting to see a number of trends, many of which are continuing from last season including en masse foliages, green garlands, and the very popular floral headpieces. Local, organic and field grown flowers are also in demand as are vintage inspired arrangements.

• Colour wise, look out for lots of gold, glitter, sequins, and bright colour blocked hues.

• Large floral installations are definitely trending. As living art they create a talking piece and move the focus from the tables into the whole space.

• As ever, the devil is in the detail so our tip for bouquets and buttonholes is to use beautiful ribboning to complement the outfits.

• Preserve your bouquets with air con, cool dark areas away from direct sunlight, and quickly place them in water filled vases at the reception.

• The emerging trend for spring/summer is nude eyes and bright lips to complement bright summer bouquets and floral styling.

• Also look out for spring/summer palettes filtering through from the US such as pops of chartreuse, orange, turquoise, yellow and pink for nail art. Nude lips with pops of colour on the eyes are huge while bright lips are perfectly complemented by the cat eye, the leading trend in eye make-up.

• With weddings becoming more lifestyle led make sure you have a pre-wedding trial so you can discuss a look that suits both your wedding plans and your personal style.

• Celebrities often sport the latest trends so collect reference images of looks you like and people whose personal style is closest to yours.

• In warm weather I always advise using waterproof products while blotting papers do an amazing job of removing oil but not make up.

OUR APPROACH

Your wedding day is the most significant day of your life, so it deserves to be captured and documented accordingly.

Our approach to wedding photography recognises this and at it’s heart lies a simple objective:

To capture your day honestly and authentically.

So rest assured, we won’t treat your wedding day as if it’s a photoshoot and run around with armfuls of gear, making noise and causing distractions. We will also, most certainly, not make you do anything unnatural, like jump in the air.

Instead we’ll discreetly move around in the background and amongst your guests, and when it’s time for bridal party portraits we’ll simply guide you into best light and make you look amazing.

All you have to do is be yourselves and enjoy the day, and we’ll capture all the moments that matter as beautiful, artistic compositions.

Easy.

OUR SPECIALITY

You can’t beat a good book, and that’s why our speciality is an end-to-end service that finishes only when we’ve presented you with a beautifully crafted album. Think of it as Chapter One in your new family history.

It’s because of the album that we include a whole day of coverage. This way we can document your wedding from start to finish then re-tell the story in accurate detail.

The album also gives us focus and purpose on your wedding day because when we compose your images we’re also visualising how they’ll look on the spreads of your album. It sounds a bit X-Men but it’s true.

And let’s not forget that one day the internet will be replaced, Facebook will be a memory, and jpeg files will be unreadable. We know this will happen because Taylor Swift tweeted it. But amongst the global chaos you’ll be happy knowing that your album will allow future generations to admire just how awesome, and incredibly young, you looked on that amazing day.

This season we’re proud to continue our partnership with Queensberry, the finest album company in the world, and we’ve also created three brand new album collections so we can offer you even more Queensberry goodness.

Each collection is designed to complement a particular lifestyle. To discover which one is perfect for you, have a browse of the following pages then get in touch to arrange a visit to our Bondi Beach home studio where all our sample albums live.

THE ARTISAN COLLECTION

Featuring the exclusive Musée album.

Musée is French for “museum” , a word that perfectly conveys the sense of historical importance that this devilishly handsome document represents.

And just like the iconic pieces that draw millions of visitors to museums each year, Musée represents the absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship.

Musée is the only album to feature 100% cotton watercolour paper from the historic 14th century Arches Mill in France. If that isn’t impressive enough, the paper was also used to publish works by Napoleon and Voltaire.

Exclusivity continues with a customised logo of your first initials, designed by Queensberry. This is stamped into the sumptous Italian vegetable-tanned leather cover as well as its protective Solander archival box.

An intricately embossed wraparound leather cover and French ribbon closures add further layers of refinement.

For discerning art lovers, it has to be Musée.

The Artisan Collection is available with a choice of two Musée sizes: 14” x 10” and 10” x 7”. Both include 18 pages (36 sides) and a translucent title page.

On request, a specially printed and bound story folio in matching Arches stock can be created and included in your Solander box. This is the perfect way to feature the written story of your day, your proposal, or just a simple love letter.

THE HERITAGE COLLECTION

The Heritage Collection features two albums that celebrate the traditional methods of crafting beautiful products.

The Duo

As Queensberry’s flagship album the Duo comes with everything you would expect from an album designed to make a statement, including a fusion of matted, full bleed and flushmount pages, and a super soft microleather cover. Unique features such as wing pages and gatefolds can also be incorporated to enhance the viewing experience.

The Overlay

This latest addition to the Queensberry range takes the traditional matted album and adds a twist by presenting your images on textured art paper. A buckram fabric cover embossed with your names completes the smart finish.

The Heritage Collection comes with a choice of a Duo or Overlay album. Both albums measure 14” x 10” and include 20 pages (40 sides) plus a translucent title page.

Additional album goodness includes extra pages, parent copies and further sizes, fabrics, colours, and accessories.
