In Tennessee’s fair eastern mountains
Founded in the aftermath of the Civil War, Milligan Collegebegan in a simple building on the banks of Buffalo Creek. From thishumble beginning was born a college whose bold vision has given directionand purpose to young people for nearly a century and a half.
Milligan survived the World Wars, when dozens of its students and facultywere recruited out of their classrooms to fight in Europe and the Pacific. Italso survived the Depression and lean financial years when faculty could notcount on salaries and buildings fell into disrepair. Despite facing thesechallenges, the college has never wavered from its mission to honor Godby educating men and women to be servant leaders who positivelyimpact the world for Christ.
Thousands have studied at Milligan since those first days, and our causeremains as true and as important today as it was then.
As the yearsgo by...
Milligan College has made great strides toward excellence over the pastdecades. These advances, founded in our mission and fueled by the passionand commitment of thousands, have brought the college to a time ofunparalleled opportunity.
Now the college stands stronger than ever, motivated by a clear sense ofpurpose and a driving urgency. Over the past ten years, Milligan has grownby every measure, completing an historic capital campaign, expanding andenhancing the main academic area of campus, adding new programs thatadvance the college’s mission, and growing the enrollment to new heights.

Major: Bible
Through the Student Government Association I have been shownnumerous times that the most effective leader is one who will leadnot only by example, but from the trenches.
From late night Taco Bell runs to a group of friends that gather oncea week for the sole purpose of praying, this community is amazingand will, if you allow it, enable you to grow into a strong relationshipwith God.
Milligan is preparing me to be a servant-leader by teaching methe importance of integrating my faith into everything I do, inall of my interactions with people. Being in nursing gives me aunique opportunity to serve others in a time of deep need; it isan amazing way for me to be the tangible hands of Jesus tothem.
The best thing about being a part of the Milligan community isknowing that I am walking alongside people who share my lovefor the Lord and my yearning to glorify Him in all areas of mylife. We learn, talk, play, laugh, weep, love, and share lifedifferently because of our common passion for Him.
The Campaign for Milligan College excites me because it willhelp Milligan continue to grow and therefore influence morestudents who will in turn influence the world! It’s also excitingthat they’re making changes to further encourage fellowshipamong students.

Our mission is about preparing the next generationof servant-leaders, and this campaign is about finding ways to better fulfillthat mission, so we are asking for the active involvement of students.
Students will serve alongside trustees, administrators and alumni on thevarious committees that will guide and direct our endeavors throughout thiscampaign. Their insight will be invaluable as we strive to enrich the studentexperience.
The Student Experience
The campaignwill help to
foster a place
for students to
come, learnand grow in a
loving, Christ-centered
community.

I have often said that one’s college years are critical times when faith needs to be built up, not torndown. That’s what Milligan College did for me and what Milligan has done for thousands of studentssince I was a student. Christian Education is the hope of the world--we must preserve this ideal bysupporting Christian education at all levels .
I am proud of my alma mater and of the success Milligan has enjoyed over the years. I am also proudto see that Milligan continues to pursue excellence by constantly looking forward. That’s why I’m soeager to help Milligan succeed in its efforts to continue to grow and to serve.
In virtually every field, whether it is business, healthcare, education, sports, or even the ministry, there continues to be a tremendousneed for leaders who are rooted in Christian principles and who possess a strong sense of character and integrity. Meeting this needis what Milligan does best.
Please join me in helping Milligan continue to move forward by supporting this campaign. Join me in providing the means forMilligan to serve future generations of students by perpetuating Milligan’s long history of high quality Christian education.

It is most gratifying to look upon Milligan and see that the college has continued to grow, improve, andreach new levels. The significant accomplishments of the past several years have emboldened the collegeto become an even greater influence upon the world. Milligan provides an excellent education, nurtures asense of Christian community, and challenges students to deepen their faith as they respond to God’scall for their lives.
The consistent, generous support of alumni and friends has made it possible for Milligan to fulfill itsmission to a greater degree than ever before. With your help, Milligan can build upon its rich heritage
while looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
I hope you will join with me in making Milligan an even better, more powerful influence upon the world for Christ.
