ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER’S REPORTSChairperson’s Report Dan A. Hello everyone,

Please forgive this lengthy report as I submit my final report as Chair of the MHASC. As you are aware, MHASC Subcommittee and Administrative Committee elections are today. I am

excited to learn who our new Trusted Servants will be. I remind all current Trusted Servants that you can best ensure a smooth transition to your successor by actively training them and working with them over the next few months.

It has been a privilege to serve the Mile High Area of Service Committee of Narcotics Anonymous. I want to thank you all for allowing me to be of service to this body for the past 3 years in an Administrative capacity. As I stated last month, I believe I have been blessed most by the service positions you have entrusted me with at MHASC. I will miss our monthly meetings, but I have no doubt you will all succeed and flourish with the newly elected Team.

As I look back on the past years, a few facts stand out: • Our average meeting attendance was less than 20 GSRs. • The Area Meetings had a reputation as being confrontational, inefficient, and painfully long. • In July, 2005, we were in a downward financial spiral; we were outspending our income by thousands of

dollars per year. • At times we had less than $150, no prudent reserve and no Guidelines to ensure we met our most basic

obligations.

I want to review some of the accomplishments over the past 2 years: • Area meetings now have an atmosphere of compassion, respect and efficiency, and our Groups are

aware of this. • This awareness is best demonstrated by the increase in GSR participation by more than 50%. As of

May, 2007, we are averaging more than 33 GSRs in attendance! I applaud you and your Groups for this. • We have successfully written and implemented fiscally responsible Guidelines to avoid financial

shortfalls as severe as in the past.

• We have maintained active, vibrant, and expanding Sub-Committees carrying more messages to more still suffering addicts than ever before.

The job is not finished; there is plenty more to do. I am confident that this body will rise to meet the challenges we still face by:

• Electing strong leadership in our Administrative Committee and Subcommittees, and holding all Trusted Servants to the highest standards of integrity and commitment.

• Continuing to take ownership of issues this body faces and making sound decisions on issues on the table, such as the Area Planning Tool and the direction of our Literature Subcommittee based on recommendations from the Ad-Hoc Committee, as well as new issues that will face this body.

• Maintaining fiscal responsibility within the MHASC so we can better carry the message to the addict who still suffers.

As we move forward with our newly elected Trusted Servants, I challenge you all to keep the primary purpose of this body as stated in the Guidelines of the MHASC as your top priority: The purpose if the MHASC is to support its groups on fulfilling their primary purpose by providing services deemed necessary by the groups. In all its proceedings, the MHASC shall adhere to The Twelve Traditions, Twelve Concepts of Service of N.A. and the resources of A Guide to Local Services.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the MHASC will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2:00 P.M. at 1212 Mariposa. Thank you for letting me be of service. Dan A Vice-Chairperson’s Report Jerry Hello, everyone.

I had a great time at the World Learning Days and look forward to sharing my newly learned information with you all. I also met with the Treasurer and the Chair to go over the budget. I would like to express my gratitude for being allowed to be of service to this body for the past year. I would also like to thank Dan for all of his hard work and dedication to service at the Mile High Area. Thanks also to all of the subcommittee chairs, admin committee and GSR’s. It has been a good year. Thank you for letting be of service, Jerry , Secretary’s Report Karen W. Thank you for allowing me to be of service, Karen Treasurer’s Report Lindsay Opening Balance for June, 2007: $1,761.03 Emergency Reserve: $1,413.97

We had additional returned checks this month, totaling $278.63. They were from the same individual who bounced checks last month. Therefore, I will no longer be able to accept checks from this individual – you know who you are. If possible, please provide area with a money order in the amount of $278.63 to make good on the returned checks. Closing Balance June, 2007: $548.36 Opening Balance July, 2007: $393.10 ($300 of which is for H&I, so the ACTUAL opening balance is $93.10) Please see the attached approved budget for Quarter 1, 2007. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS Activities Subcommittee James K. No Report CRCNA Liaison Vale *Hospitality room sign ups are for 2 hours this year. You can sign up at nacolorado.org. Any group signing up will be responsible for cleaning up the room after they have used it and keeping fresh coffee brewed in their allotted time period. *We still need a Convention and Web Chair *The main hope/idea for the Saturday night event is a Halloween/costume party. Alan introduced a band that was voted in. The name of the Saturday night band is "Boogie Machine." *Terri, from H&I, is continuing to request facilities that she can fax an information sheet to with all the low down on CRCNA. *All subcommittees continue to need help at this point. Due to the lack of support CRCNA was hoping to piggy back on a lot of events that are already occurring. I explained that MHASC doesn't presently have an Activities chair. You can find out when and where all CRCNA subcommittees meet by going to nacolorado.org and clinking on the link to CRCNA. *The convention is going to have three main speakers and 42 topics have been chosen for marathon meetings to present to region. *You can register for CRCNA online at this time. They are currently having problems with being able to print the flier from the website and this is being addressed. *I also need to correct something from my announcement at area. I was under the belief that up to 5 addicts could get in a room for the $79 room rate. After re-reading the minutes and my notes, I found that the maximum number of addicts allowed to stay in one room is 5 (due to fire code). Jay is still checking with the hotel if all 5 are covered under the rate. I will keep everyone updated as soon as I know. Thank you and in loving service, Vale , MHASC CRCNA XXI Liaison H&I Jay Mc.

We had our last subcommittee meeting on May 13, 2007. We had 17 people in attendance. Our next subcommittee meeting is next Sunday (June 10th) at 5 PM at 1212 Mariposa. We are looking for people to go in to several different facilities. We will be doing H & I Training at the July 8th subcommittee meeting. I ask that all GSR’s please announce this at their home groups. 6th months clean time and H&I training are all that are required to go into many of the facilities we serve. We have not been able to take meeting into certain facilities as scheduled due to lack of volunteers (Jefferson County Jail – Men’s and The Federal Correctional Institute). We are still looking for Panel Coordinators for Parker Valley Hope, Jefferson County Jail – Men’s and The Phoenix Center.

We are still disbursing the Basic Texts given to us by the Colorado Region. This should be completed by July. My tenure as Chair of the H&I subcommittee is coming to an end. It is still my hope to complete a thorough review of our literature needs on a facility by facility basis if the new H&I Chair feels that is something we need to do. I would also like to see our subcommittee conduct an inventory which I would be happy to spearhead.

I want to thank the Mile High Area and all the member of the fellowship for the opportunity to serve this past year. It has been a great chance to learn and grow and further my recovery. I am humbled by the notion that everyone here trusted me with such an awesome job. I hope that in some small way I was able to help carry our message. I still believe that H&I is one of the most rewarding service opportunities for our members.

I have full faith that Terry C will be an awesome Chair, if elected. She has helped me tremendously in serving as H&I chair. She really made me look good…..even when I was too proud to admit I was overwhelmed. She has my full support. In loving service, Jay Mc

Literature Subcommittee Alan T. Thank you for letting me serve, Alan T. Outreach Subcommittee Nick S. The Outreach Subcommittee for the Mile High Area June Report The Outreach Subcommittee for the Mile High Area meets at 1212 Mariposa St. at 5:00 pm the 2nd Sunday of the month. With our correspondence program we received 8 letters, we sent 13 letters and we sent 2 books Our Adopt-a-Meeting program is currently supporting the meeting "Hope Without Dope". Our Meetings-on-Wheels program saw no activity this last month. We had 2 people show up for subcommittee meeting last month. Thank you for letting me be of service Nick S. .

Phone Line Subcommittee Brenda C. Hello, I am Brenda. he Phone Line Chair, the schedule is all taken again; also only 2-3 members give me their phone log monthly reports. The phone line has been difficult over the last year. If no one is able to step up for the phone line chairperson, I suggest we just let it go. No one showed up for the Phone Line Subcommittee meeting. However, I was able to train 2 that following weekend which was at CRCNA fund raising event, one and the day before, one at a time. We will be electing a new chair today. Thank you for allowing me to be of service, Brenda C. . Public Information Subcommittee Dawn S. Thanks for checking. Actually, my last month was the previous month, so I didn't have a report this month. Only one person showed up to the May subcommittee, and since it was Mother's Day, we decided to cut it short, so there's nothing much to report. Drug court is up and running -- so that's good news. As far as I know, there's nobody else to step up. There are a few women I know who are interested in doing some PI work, but not able to commit to 12 months of Sunday area meetings in addition to 12 months of Sunday subcommittee meetings. We have discussed trying to go forward without a chair and each of us would share the responsibility of going to area meetings. Not even sure if PI got a budget for the next quarter. I've tried to announce that PI needs bodies to show up, but I started to get an attitude (not a positive one), and so decided it's time to step away. I know enough about NA that if I'm still showing up and acting like the chair, nobody else will. I keep telling myself it's about me showing up for my recovery, but it would be nice to see some commitment from the fellowship, too. It would be nice to see this area doing something to reach out to the addict who still suffers -- so they don't have to go to jail or institutions to hear aboutus. One thing I am grateful for is to have gotten to know some fellow addicts -- like you -- that I might not have run into otherwise. If you get tired of being secretary and want to join the PI underground women, let me know. Thanks for letting me ramble. In loving service, Dawn S. Training Subcommittee Desiree F.
